I like the value added and higher nutritional value of organic milk from Walmart. Because it is organic, the experation date is usually a month or more from when I buy it. This allows me to shop less frequently and still have fresh milk available in the refrigerator. The taste and freshness are great.
We have been buying Walmart's organic milk in gallon and half-gallon containers for some time now, and have never had any bad milk or broken containers. The expiration dates are always a couple months off. There is no way to know how organic it really is, and these days I would say all organic food is suspect, but there is always hope. Anyway, it tastes fine.
I prefer this organic skim milk versus non organic. The taste is always fresh and I don't worry about other stuff in my milk. I know it's more expensive than standard mill but I've never had any issues with this brand of milk. It also has a long expiration date. I do recommend this brand of milk.
One of the cartons of milk I ordered, was leaking from the bottom. It wasn't until the next morning, when I got the half gallon of milk out of my refrigerator that I realized the whole refrigerator shelf was wet with milk and the bottom of one of the cartons was leaking. So I had to throw that one out. But I still had the other one I'd ordered left. I would suggest that whoever is filling our orders for home delivery Check the bottoms of things to make sure they're not leaking.
Walmart %26 other gro stores are ILLEGALLY ADDING 3 MONTH EXPIRATION DATES TO MILKS! WHICH ALL MILKS DO NOT LAST FRESH BEYOND 1 WEEK! SO ITS FALSE ADVERTISING %26 WALMART .COM IS NOT KERPING THESE MIILKS COLD ENOUGH %26 THEY SPOIL FAST! THE CARTONS HAVE ARRIVED WITH THE SIDES SWOLLEN AT TIMES %26 THE TASTE IS NOT FRESH! I HAVE TO FREEZE SMALL BTLS OF THESE MILKS %26 THAT IS TIME-CONSUMING %26 TAKES UP FREEZER SPACE! I HAVE TO MIX SOME EVAP CANNED MILKS WITH THIS MILK TO GET A BETTER TASTE! I DOUBT THAT THESE WAY OVER-PRICED MILKS ARE EVEN ORGANIC! %26 BRAUMS HAS GREAT TASTING, FRESH MILKS %26 THEY ARE 1/2 THE PRICE OF THESE VERY LOWER QUALITY MILKS FROM WALMART! I AM SICK OF WASTING MONEY ON IMPROPERLY STORED, SPOILED FOODS %26 MILKS FROM WALMART.COM ORDERS
I loved this milk because it was good and an affordable organic product. But Walmart raised the price of it BY ALMOST A DOLLAR ($3.98 to $4.92) IN ONE MONTH!!! Did you think we wouldn't notice? It's hard to believe that there was a good reason (other than wanting to make more money) for this kind of cost increase in such a short time.
I purchase organic milk for its longer expiration date. However, this time apparently had been sitting in cooler for quite some time since the expiration date was only 1 week. My previous purchase had an expiration date of a month. I don't drink it very fast thus my reason for buying organic.
Pros: 1. It hydrates your body. 2. It provides nutrition. 3. It has an attractive container. 4. It has fewer calories. 5. The texture seems normal. 6. You can't even make hot chocolate out of it. Cons: 1. It smells %26 tastes bad, even though well within the sell- by date. 2. My husband, who is much less picky about these things, couldn't stomach it. 3. We had to throw it %26 order some from Kroger today. Fingers crossed. 4. Money down the drain. Who can afford that?! Persona Note: I really like milk %26 I need the calcium. Normally I drink skim, at a lower price point, but that has all been bad-tasting too recently. I thought an upgrade might help. Not so. I don't recommend this milk to fellow shoppers. It's nasty-smelling %26 nasty-tasting! If you have to, hold your nose %26 drink it fast. Have a palate-cleanser nearby.
This organic milk is expensive but I buy it because it has a long expiration date- however almost every time I order it for delivery the expiration date is too close. Twice the milk has spoiled several days before the expiration date. This order the expiration date is 5 days away.
My skim milk has an expiration date printed on the carton of July 26, 2026 and has been kept refrigerated at 37°F since Pirches. It is spoiled prematurely and there's no longer edible. I'm having this problem continuously with this half gallon of organic skim milk. unless you're going to use the milk within a week of Pirches I recommend you not buy it.
