No need for pre-split! Just take a sharp knife and DIY. These toast-up easily, are tasty, minimum crumble, and simply a fine base for butter, cheese, or "a-shmeer" and lox (I combine the last two w/Philadelphia "Cream Cheese and Lox" spread). It's difficult to go-wrong with Great Value-brand products.
Soft and flaky and much easier to split in half with a fork.... Refrigerated Enough Muffins are different from shelf storage ones due to having different ingredients or ingredients of a different form like powdered eggs vs raw eggs and powdered milk vs fresh dairy milk. **I've also learned that the refrigerated muffins stay fresh longer, are more moist and remain easy to split in half with a fork. -Enjoy !
these are the ones that I wanted when I did my order but unfortunately Walmart was out of it so I had to make a substitution with the Thomas English Muffins but those ended up being too starchy and hard to get open but the Great Value ones those are the ones that I really want so please try and keep them in stock
These are a weekly buy for my household. Between toasting and adding butter and a nice raspberry preserve, to toasting and add a sausage or ham slice and a egg the way you like it. Also add pizza sauce, shredded cheese and your favorite pizza toppings and throw them in the oven. Endless ways of these English muffins!!!
I usually get the non refrigerated ones but when I saw these for around the same price I had to try it. These are better and they became a weekly essential must have. I make sausage, egg and cheese muffins or sometimes put cream cheese and orange marmalade on it. These Great Value refrigerated English muffins are soooo good and a great price too!
These muffins are a reasonable substitute for Thomas'. Not as great, but better than others i've tried. Flavor is pretty good. By touch they may seem tough and dry but after toasting them they become fairly soft, and quite good. I've been buying these for quite a while and am satisfied with them. Best if cut with sharp knife, then toasted. and buttered while hot.
I love the taste of Great Value English Muffins. They taste like they came from a bakery. The only thing I didn't like was the difficulty of separating the english muffins. I really had to be careful not to tear the muffins. That's the reason for 4 stars.
They taste good when toasted well done with lots of brown bits. If you do that the taste and texture are fine. Otherwise, they're too crumbly and taste a bit raw. Also, they're advertised and labeled as being fork split but I have yet to get one, out of hundreds, that was split in any way. The closest I've gotten is one package where the muffins looked like they'd had two large needles inserted into them, not flat fork/knife they usually use for splitting English Muffins.
Do save money! The taste is ok, but they seem to have little more taste and texture of bread instead of traditional english muffins grit and pores. Smaller sized than they use to be.. Kind of crumbly when i tried to open. This brand use to be really good and average sized,
Taste is okay as is texture, but hard to split. Definitely not fork split, and not even knife split. End up having to cut in half. If they were better split, this would be my go-to non-diet English muffins. For dieting, I prefer the light variety of Country Hearth, but can't always get them, so these are the replacement. Have bought before, and will buy again if I can't get the Country Hearth light English muffins. Bayes are best, very easy to split just by hand, but also highest calorie. Thomas are not so great despite being top brand. Often are too wet, and hard to split resulting in uneven halves (the top half is overly skinny). These are more evenly split, but come more dried out, so harder to split.
