YUM! 😁 Great Value premium shells and cheese microwave cups have exceptional flavor, a lot of cheese, and is super easy to prepare! Just a few minutes to cook in the microwave, making this an affordable, flavorful choice for a hot lunch at work. I have also mixed in warmed up Great Value canned tuna and the combination is so delicious! Would also be great with Great Value ham steak.
My son absolutely loves these! But the new paper packaging sucks! They make it difficult to stir in. And I can't count the number of times I have lost the actual product because the seal lid is it properly on it so it all falls out when you open the packaging.
These are single serve mac and cheese in the microwave. You get a cardboard container with an obvious mark, dry macaroni, milk powder and a packet of prepared squeeze cheese. You put water in the container to the mark and cook for 3.5mins in the microwave. Just mix in the cheese, I find the longer you let it sit before you eat it the better it seems to taste so let it sit a minute or two before you eat it and mix it up well.
Great stuff! Live in LA and keep a few around for all the disasters we are supposed to have, the "Zombie Apocalypse," or just those evenings and nights when I am peckish but not into any big prep -work or cleanup. A critical component of the DSGF (dumb simple good food) supply. This is one item that is easy to rotate supply on as it calls out on cool nights and, with a bit of creativity, mixes well with any number of protein and vegetable parings. Love it!
The flavor is not as cheesy as it use to be but it's still good and It's easy to prepare, so easy my kids make it for themselves all the time. The one thing that's a little odd is the “cardboard” style cups. Because of the heat the cups get warped easy. It's a bit of a turn off but nothing too crazy that we wouldn't buy them anymore.
Bowls were not sealed so two of them spilled out. Instead of saving a few pennies on 4 servings I ended up paying a lot more for 2 and throwing the other two away. Simple and easy shouldn't come with extra chores but these things went everywhere. I'm sticking with Velveeta.
This Great Value option is a fine alternative as it is almost as good as Kraft but unfortunately at least 1/2 the time I purchase, 1 or 2 of the cups are not sealed properly and we lose 1/2 the product out of the cup and we end up throwing it away...
These used to be my go to snacks to keep at work if i didn't have time to pack a lunch or if i was still hungry later in the day. The packaging was changed and not only does the container soak up the water when you prepare it but it also changed the taste and left a weird film on it. I'm all for more eco friendly packaging but this isn't it. now i have three cups that i cant even give away.
These new cups/containers are AWFUL as others have stated. They are made of cardboard rather than plastic and when we got home with our pickup order all 4 of them were damaged, opened with the powder and shells falling everywhere. The vast majority of the recent reviews all state very similar issues with these. They need to be changed back to the plastic cups/containers.
Why would they change the bowls from plastic to these paper/cardboard bowls? I get to save the environment but 3 out of 4 of my bowls were completely crushed and spilled open. And this is the second time I bought them because the first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt and blamed it on the delivery of the product. They seriously need to rethink the bowls, this was a waste of money.
