A great tasting add-in for soups, salads, mashed potatoes and pasta. Combine some into your burger meat, it's great! Not overly salty it's just delicious! I keep mine in the freezer and use what I need. Get creative! Where can you add bacon- just a little or a lot!
This stuff is absolutely great, just a little bit of these bacon bits in your eggs up your game 10 times. My personal favorite is to take a little of these bacon bits and mix them with my ground beef before I make hamburgers. They come out absolutely fantastic. It’s so much cleaner and easier than cooking regular bacon, which is outrageously expensive at the moment and messy. Bacon is a wonderful thing. It adds so much to almost everything having this on standby had a pretty decent price. It’s pretty great.
These are the most handy things to have in the pantry. They can be a little hard, but I usually put them in things it doesn't matter, they soften. Examples: egg bites, pizza, Alfredo, pasta salad, mashed potatoes, on top of mashed potatoes, potato skins, home fries, corn bread, premade salad with dressing. It's almost unlimited uses. they aren't very fatty, refrigerate after opening.
This is a great value for bacon pieces, especially with what’s out on the market. It’s just a little pricier than the 20oz bag I get at the club wholesale store, so it works great when I’m not able to make it there. Quality is comparable. I keep these stocked in my house for stove-top meals and salads, especially with the price of bacon these days. Just a tablespoon or two goes a long way. Definitely recommend.
When I don't have time to wait for a pot of pinto beans to simmer all day, I open a can of pinto beans. Add just a few of these bacon bits %26 cook for about 20 minutes to give them better flavor. Not like the all day simmer but, good in a time crunch.
Really—do I even need to say more? Unless you don’t want to save $1.47 every time you buy these little bits of heaven. I’ve got a pretty sensitive palate, and most of the time I can taste the difference between name brand and store brand. Bacon is one of those ingredients I use constantly—Beacon Bits go into just about everything I cook, and yes… even my nighttime treats. I’ll eventually figure out how to post my recipes (Salted Caramel %26 Bacon Puff Pastry, anyone? Or a Bloody Mary with a crispy bacon strip garnish 🍹🥓). Bacon is hands-down the most used ingredient in my home. So if I can save $1.47—let’s call it $1.50—every time I buy it, that matters. A lot. I’m a disabled combat veteran living in Southern California and I live on my VA disability check, so my budget is very tight. Saving $1.50 here and there isn’t small—it adds up fast. Bottom line: great flavor and a little extra cash left in my pocket? That’s a win-win… and I’ll happily take both 😄
This is same quality as more expensive brands that are sold at supermarkets. I fill a small jar using a canning funnel, and leave the opened bag in tje refrigerator. When the small jar is empty, I repeat the prodcess. I use on salads. Can be used in any dish that calls for bacon.
Ive been buying tese big pack bacon pieces for years. Theyve always been cooked well and if anything, crunchy. Now Ive gotten a few bags that are so fatty, wet and practically raw. Im afraid to even use it on salads as it doesnt hardly even seem cooked. If Walmart is doing this to increase the profit margin, since hardly dried, Hardly cooked-at-all bacon weighs a lot more than crunchy dried bacon pieces, please STOP IT!! The first bag i got that was so wet and fatty and stuck together, i thought it was just a bad bag. Now it keeps happening. Again, Walmart GREED?!!
They have changed to proportion of fat to bacon bits- couple years ago. The package stated 3 g protein per tablespoon- that was changed a while back to 2 g- however, they didn't change the amount of fat per tablespoon; if you change the amount of meat equals protein- then the fat content must have gone up. I have bought this many many times -i used to use it as a snack to pop in my mouth- I rarely do that anymore because there is too much fat in the bag
I normally buy these with no issues. They usually have a great taste, nice pieces of bacon, and very little fat. This bag is totally opposite. It's mostly fat and gristle with no flavor. I don't know what happened but it needs to be fixed. I'll try a small bag and if it's the same, I won't be buyin again!
