These fries are good cooked up crispy in the air fryer. I add lots of salt and eat them with cold ketchup. Everyone in my family likes them. They're also really good with chili and cheese. Yummy. They get nice and crispy, but the insides stay soft and tender just like we like them.
I cook using air fryer with chicken wings in basket one slot below in my Emeril lagasse 360. once everything is done cooking I switch locations of item trays which finishes browning. family commented how good fries are. just split time %26 placement to half %26 half.
I've gone back and forth between a name brand french fry company and GV. I have to say after several months I've decided that GV is a far better fry than the fancy way more expensive frozen french fries. I cooked them each the same way. 1st in the Air Fryer and then in an elecrtic skillet with oil. The GV brand came out on top every time except with the Steak Fries. The name brand Steak Fries were actually slightly better, but only for the steak fries. The actual look of the Steak Fries was much better looking and more fries were of a good size instead of rotten looking ends and small pieces. with all the others it was Great Value all the way! Makes me happy that I've found a product where the store brand is much better than the name brand. Now if I could only start liking the GV brand ketchup more than the Heinz, but sometimes you just can't make that switch even to save a bitvof money!
I used to have a June oven but I only really used it for French Bread pizza. Fries were just OK in it. But I replaced it with a different oven that has a specific setting for frozen fries, and they come out amazing. Generic house brand, yes, but they crisp up just as well as any name brand I've tried, and have the same ability to hold BBQ sauce (I prefer that over ketchup) so I mostly taste the BBQ anyway. For the price, absolutely a steal.
Taste fine. You get a lot of fries for a low price. Easy to make just bake for 20 minutes. I salt mine a little and dip them in some ketchup. Goes good with lots of meals. I usually have mine with fish sticks or homemade cheeseburgers. If you bake them just right they're crispy on the outside and softer in the middle. I used to make them in a deep fryer which cooks them really well but I don't have a deep fryer anymore.
We love these French fries. They are perfect to make in the air fryer which gives them the perfect crispy outside to use for chili cheese fries but not too crispy that they can't be dipped in ketchup without breaking a tooth. They are decently priced for a convenient substitute for fresh potatoes. Regular cut is my favorite though so I could be a little biased.
These fries were a good value for the price. They cooked evenly and came out with a nice texture, especially in the air fryer. The flavor is simple, but they are easy to season or serve with different meals. The bag size is convenient and works well for more than one serving. They are not restaurant-style fries, but for a frozen option they do the job well. Overall, I was satisfied and would buy them again.
There isn't too much difference between GV fries and Ore-ida fries, according to my family. Other than the price. so I'll keep buying this brand. They bake up great in the oven and in the air fryer. Lately I've noticed that there are a lot more “pieces” than whole fries included in each bag. This is the same with the name brands so it's not happening because they're store brand. Still, it's annoying because the smaller pieces burn or come out extra crisp by the time the whole fries are done.
Love how easy these are to prepare, and they crisp up okay in the air fryer. I haven't tried them in the oven as in my experience fries tend to stay pretty soft don't really crisp that way, but the air fryer works great for that. In my experience there isn't much seasoning, even salt, but it's simple to toss that in myself after they're done cooking. Taste is pretty decent for a frozen fry. They aren't 10/10, but I'd put them at a 6 or a 7 if cooked in an air fryer or a deep fryer.
I am not sure what is going on with Walmart great value french fries. these fries have so many fries in the package that are made out of rotten potatoes that either show spots of rot or they are a yellowish color and taste really nasty. I usually have to go through and pick out at least a handful each time I want to cook any of these because if you buy it into one of them that is yellow I'm going to really not like the taste. most of the Great value fries for whatever reason are being made out of rotten potatoes.
