Yes they're a bit greasy. Yes they can be crumbled from time to time. I love them though! Nice and salty and they're actually a little less fattening than the regular Ruffles. Yum!
These chips are a great replacement for the Lay's brand of Ruffles. They are nice and crunchy and great with dips. They hold up well. Will continue to buy.
really delicious...only problem is ..hard to stop eating
I know the bags always say '9 chips equals 150 calories blah......Then how come I can see the bottom of the bag after a football game minus overtime plus hundreds of commercials? I've tried every brand of 'tater chips' except those baked not salted puffed air in a sack kind.I'm lucky I can still eat what is considered 'junk' and have no consequences. Except burping like a baritone---long loud and deep. These are good chips they aren't my favorites but I rotate chips according to price. Sometimes I refuse to pay 6 bucks for a bag of chips. Put them on sale then! I've eaten the ripple and the regular the only negative is the chips tendency to get stale quickly. If I buy a variety of snack foods and let these hang back in our dry cubbie they go stale fast--with chip clip. But the taste reminds me of a brand called Utz and another called Golden Flake. Sometimes I get tired of light crackly chips and want something that will hold the ranch dressing mix.Eat within a few days enjoy!
Early last year, 2011, I began to purchase these chips. They were VERY GOOD with a nice potato flavor; not greasy. Recently, all of the purchased chips - average 2 bags per week for my husband's lunch - have been VERY GREASY and CRUMBLED. Another complaint, not just about this particular brand chips, but all -- the upper HALF of the bag needs to be cut off to reach the chips inside. Just put them in a smaller bag. We all know the cost is going up and up while the packaging is becoming smaller. We will no longer purchase the Great Value chips.
The Rippled Chips are definately a Great Value... If you're looking for a $1.98 bag of chip crumbs... Great as filler if you're out of bread crumbs but not so much for eating chips & dip!
These chips taste like oil. Not good at all
