I enjoyed this cheese in many different ways. It can be used in cooking or garnishing. I also love it as a low carb snack. Be mindful if you have a sodium restriction. I enjoy it mostly at room temperature, but it is delicious even after refrigeration.
Cheeeeeese. A seriously delicious treat, best enjoyed on almost everything. Burgers. Salads. Beans. Melted on Bread... Yummy!! Whether you know it or not, you absolutely do pay extra to have a name-brand logo on your foods. This "store" brand is more or less the same product in off-brand packaging. Cheese is already too expensive as it is. Don't let that stop you from bringing some home! This cheese held up well in our fridge. Proper clean-paws handling and air-tight containers meant no mold! Yay!
The Great Value block cheeses are always my first choice because they taste good and They are much cheaper in price. When you're on a budget and you like cheese, this is the brand to buy. Grating your own cheese is much better than buying pre-grated cheese…in my opinion.
Here's my thing: I love ypur products, your service, your attention to detail ... your general presentation. You do a good job. Also, I understand your desire for my input. HOWEVER, I do dearly despise responding to your review requests. SO, THIS WAS THE LAST OF 'EM !!
It is a hit or miss regarding taste and price sometimes it may be sharp and aged just perfectly other times it's like the shelf quality life has expired could be because of external factors such as the heat waves or power outages that affect the freezers Majority of the time it is my go to purchase cheese and crackers is a fulfilling meal
Everything was fine except I expected my Swiss cheese to be in a honk. That's the way we prefer it unless somebody puts paper between each of the slices they take together and it's ruined.
When you buy the larger brick size, it could be hit or miss. Sometimes it's pretty good, other times not. I prefer the white cheddar over the regular. The sharper cheddar's tend to have more consistent flavor and texture, as also in the smaller sized packages.
Had lots of tech trouble trying to add extra items to my list of groceries but you'd think the ppl shopping %26 supplying the items would've noticed 12 lbs of cheddar cheese was an awfully lot of cheese! So instead of 1 %232lb block, I got 6. I also can't drive right now so I'm stuck with it. Many more mistakes like this %26 I'll be back to doing my own shopping! This wasn't the only complaint!
Product has changed. I buy this to use shredded. I store it in a very air tight container. 1st day had an incredibly strong scent of faux butter which might be okay for garlic bread or pizza...but awful for use with tex-mex. 2nd day, began to smell like fish. 3rd day,.. extreme fish smell. 4th day...had to throw it away because it triggered by vomit reflex. Still looked and felt incredibly fresh. But the smell was intolerable. There's some sort of additive or preservative in it that is shamefully putrid smelling. You've blown it this time Walmart. Won't purchase again.
I purchase other great value products including cheeses like pepper jack, monterey jack, etc. and they have all been good so I don't understand why this one disagrees with me SO much. Taste is terrible and it gives me heartburn after trying it a couple different times. I threw it in the trash. Won't buy again.
