Great Value Sharp Cheddar Deli Style Sliced Cheese, 16 oz, 24 Slices

This is a good cheddar for salads and sandwich melts. It definitely tastes like cheddar and it is nice and firm when at room temperature or colder. But it melts nice and gooey. I enjoy it on grilled cheese or on toast. It just is sliced thin enough that it takes a little care to separate the slices without breaking one of the slices. It is worth the little bit of effort.

This is my go-to sandwich cheese. No question! My husband and son are loyal to American cheese, but I'm a cheddar person all the way. If I'm having cheese, it has to be sharp (or extra sharp), so yes… I'm a bit of a cheese snob. That said, this one delivers. Good sharp cheddar flavor, slices well, melts nicely, and comes at a price that makes it easy to keep stocked. If you like real cheddar flavor in your sandwiches, this is a solid choice without paying deli counter prices.

Better Than Kraft and Sargento in my opinion. Tastes Great. Always Excellent Quality. Uses white waxed papers in between each slice so it does not stick together in one big clump. Great on burgers. Thickness is perfect. Not too thick or thin. Soft. But not too soft. Just right. Very satisfying.

My kids absolutely love this sharp sliced cheese! We have tried the name brand but it is so expensive. This one taste the same (maybe even better) you get thicker slices, and it's cheaper! The resealable bag is very convenient and seals nicely! We use this daily for ham %26 cheese sandwiches for lunches and they never have any complaints. I've never had any issues with mold as I have with the name brand. Highly recommend

Not extremely strong flavor but more than mild or medium anyway. I appreciate the papers between each slice so i don't get cheese under my fingernails trying to separate them. Would NOT be happy if each slice were individually wrapped in plastic! This cheese is good for sandwiches, melting into grits, over hot rice, and myriad uses of your choice.

Tastes great and is a must-have on sandwiches - esp egg sandwiches on Hawaiian bread for a real flavor treat. That's one of my quirky things, anyway. The PROBLEM is sometimes it's crumbly to the point you can't take a slice out of the package because it just breaks into pieces. Lots of them. Pieces. Little ones. Everywhere. I don't put them on my sandwich, I SPRINKLE them on my sandwich. Freezing can do that to cheddar (I never have this problem with Colby Jack or Swiss), so maybe this sometimes gets frozen...? I wish they'd stop letting happen whatever it is that happens. Sometimes the GV cheddar slices are good, too. And it always tastes great, so the crumbly slices aren't a huge deal, just an inconvenience when you're in a hurry.

I love this value pack of cheddar. I felt the need to review because I've had this issue happen several times. Certain packs taste different than others. most of the time they taste like a good cheddar and other times they have a more rubbery consistency and remind me of American cheese singles in flavor and texture... it's strange and makes me feel like they are doing something to cheapen the product but still charge the same price.

A grilled cheese product sandwich needs some help to actually taste like cheese. Add a slice of Great Value Deli Style Sliced Sharp Cheddar to help out the "cheese product". One melts well and the other is real cheese. A good combo along with some tomato soup.

I have been noticing that the Great Value cheese packets aren't rotating correctly! By the time the cheese is about a week old, it starts with green mold on the edges! Even though I check the best by dates carefully, I find that this problem has been continuing occasionally here the last few months! I'll take pictures next time.

Purchased this cheese Nov 3, 2025. Opened the sealed package on Nov 17 and every piece was moldy! The freshness date was in February 2026, so obviously it was not kept fresh in shipping/at the store. We buy this item all the time and this has never happened before.
