GV Sharp Cheddar Deli Style Cheese, 8oz with 12 slices is good for adding to meat sandwiches or grilled cheese alone. Sometimes it can be enjoyed just on a cracker along with some fruits. The 12 slices are perfect for added freshness because it will not go bad so quickly. It does not freeze well; meaning the quality of the cheese is not affected nor the taste; however, when separating the cheese will break apart very easily. It will be fine for salads, sprinkle dishes, Burritos, Tacos, omelette's, baked potatoes or mashed.
I love Great Value sliced cheese because it's all great quality and you get the best value. This is very good quality sharp cheddar and they give you the perfect amount of slices. We used them for burgers to melt on top and it was delicious. Highly recommend. The price is unbeatable.
I am surprised at Walmart's deli cheddar sliced cheese. Wish it was white cheddar though. I wonder if the white cheddar is softer without the added color? I know it's supposed to be the aging process for a stronger tasting and less creamy cheese but, I do wonder…
as I've gotten older convenience has definitely won out. so I'm buying the sliced cheese instead of the black cheese and that type of thing. good taste. good value. the one of the things that really irritates me when you have a self-sealing bag and it won't self-seal. I don't know that I've ever had that problem with the with the Walmart brand. they they do actually work and keeps your cheese from getting dried out and everything
Sharp cheddar makes everything better! Melted on top of scrambled eggs, don't forget to add something fun in between like seasoned black beans, or even better chili beans, and if you want to push the recipe over the edge throw chunks of ham along with your preferred beans.
Great cheese, just as good as the more expensive brands. Cheddar takes longer than american cheese to melt, but if you lay it in the pan for a few seconds while holding one corner and then put on sandwich or whatever it will melt faster. It's better for you than american cheese which legally can't be called cheese anymore.
The Cheese is fine with one caveat. If you buy the 8 oz, the slices are not separated with paper. The cheese slices stick together and it is a pain to get them apart. The larger packs come with paper between the slices which makes it so much easier to remove slices from the package. However, I don't like to buy the larger packages because they end up molding before I use all the slices. Maybe this isn't a problem with a large family.
Taste great but as with all the great value cheese I have bought the past couple of years, it starts to mold within 2 or 3. days after opening. I have started washing my hands before touching the cheese, and I get what I want and put it immediately back in the refrigerator. It still molds very quickly after opening.
I mean, this is great if you're not really too up on all your flavors of cheese or styles of cut the only thing that's jelly about the sharp cheese is the fact that you get less slices and it's prepackaged and hanging from a peg it's far from sharp. It's very mild the texture thick like a deli other than that it's all right, but it didn't really impress me.
So this cheese is asinine Every time I try to grab a slice the cheese does not separate. I end up ripping the slice apart or into pieces. if I wanted shredded cheese, I would just buy it. Why not put a piece of paper between the slices like you do some of the other cheeses?
