Great Value Sharp Cheddar Deli Style Sliced Cheese, 8 oz, 12 Slices

One Halloween, our son Wally went as a cheeseburger and I thought it would be perfect if we covered him in about 20 lbs of hamburger (raw) and about 60 slices of this here Great Value Sharp Cheddar Cheese. Well, it went about as good as you would expect, which is to say not good at all and that ain't Walmart's fault it was just a bad idea.

If you love cheese the extra sharp seems to be hitting the spot more the classics Colby/mozz/cheddar med-mild which don't seem to be aged long enough to have the flavor cheeses come with as the age. Eating one these bad boys like a brick - simple adulthood joys.

I've been consistently impressed with this GV Sharp Cheddar. For an "everyday" brand, the **taste** is surprisingly robust with that classic cheddar bite I look for. The **texture** is spot-on—firm enough for a deli-style sandwich but melts beautifully on a burger or in a grilled cheese. Plus, you really can't beat the **price** for a 12-count pack. It's a solid, reliable staple for the fridge that doesn't break the bank. Highly recommended if you want quality without the premium price tag!

There are lots of things that are important to me when buying anything. With food I really look for quality not only in the product such as cheese but in the packaging. If it is hard to open or won't seal easily what good is it. GV has both. Great Value although a store brand provides a quality cheese that has good tastes and more importantly will last a long time in the refrigerator after being opened. I have had bad experiences with other store's. It melts easily in a grilled cheese sandwich and works great in a cold sandwich.

while I would say no sharp is too sharp, there should be some sharp in the sharp right ? This on has enough sharp for me to call it sharp, not by a lot, but its there and the price makes it less sharp on the wallet :) a great product, always fresh, and stays fresh for days. a great flavor, that doesn't overpower your pastrami on rye, but the pastrami and rye compliment your cheese (yes, I am making one now). some mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, oh and the jalepeno and bell pepper.....

Recently visited a relative who had the cheese individually wrapped in plastic. Such a great reminder how much it tastes like plastic with no cheese flavor unlike the Great Value sliced cheddar that tastes like cheese. We mostly use the sliced cheddar on sandwiches, cheese toast, and on scrambled eggs. It also stays fresh longer than other name brand cheeses.

It goes great with lunch meat and 2 slices of bread. This is called a sandwich. Another option is to put a few slices in between 2 slices of bread and brown both sides of the bread in a skillet. This is called a grilled cheese. This particular cheese tastes good especially if you haven't tasted any artisan made cheeses or usually use American cheese. My favorite thing about this cheese is that it comes in slices.

Great Value Cheddar Cheese is a staple in our household. Yes, name brands like Sargento are nice, but I see no discernable difference in taste, texture etc when compairing the two, except for the price. Great Value is definitely a tough economy purchase, helping to squeeze just a little more from that penny, and it's well worth it on the Cheese slices. Can be used in melted cheese sandwiches, as well as torn up in salads, casseroles and any recipe calling for cheese.

It's basic yellow cheddar. it's affordable. The flavor is fine. Maybe a bit on the oily side. I almost think the price is cheaper that it used to be by like a dollar, but I also feel like they removed the wax paper between the sliceses? Was it ever there or am I thinking of some other brand. If you took it out you should put it back because the slices stick together; often times ruining 2 or more slices in the process of separating them.

I mean, this is great if you're not really too up on all your flavors of cheese or styles of cut the only thing that's jelly about the sharp cheese is the fact that you get less slices and it's prepackaged and hanging from a peg it's far from sharp. It's very mild the texture thick like a deli other than that it's all right, but it didn't really impress me.
