For cheese that was pre-shredded I'd was good. Not as good if you shredded yourself but was a big time saver. It is dryer than if you shredded yourself. It doesn't melt as fast and I am not a huge fan of the corn starch coating to keep it from sticking together. With all its cons I still use it to save time.
I would personally say aside from Tillamook cause that is my favorite cheese brand that great value is comparable to any other name brand and if not a better quality so this is definitely the way to go financially and for taste quality and overall quality.
This senior, Senior has rated the shredded cheeses high in the past and, yhis one's no exception. I use it (many flavors) on salads, melted on burritos and burgers, cold cut sandwiches , casseroles and other foods calling for melted or just cheese. Fast, easy and a pretty good price. Good taste is a key.
I had always just used Mild Cheddar, but was introduced to Sharp in the past 2 years. I love Sharp and eat it all the time. This Sharp is great and I had a funny incident because of it recently. I made Macaroni and Cheese for the first time and I gave friends some for their dinner. The 15 yr old daughter asked what the funny spice was. She was used to Mild and the Sharp put her off a bit. She did finish though. I recommend this as a great Sharp Cheddar at a reasonable price. I use it on everything.
Mr Desmond is always very efficient, considerate and so very polite!! We absolutely love when he picks our order and we appreiicate him so much!!! He picks our order as we would!!
I like to put extra grated cheese on my frozen pizzas from the grocery stores and sharp cheddar %26 mozzarella cheeses are my favorites as extras on the frozen pizzas so I buy the 5 lb bag and keep a bag at all times in my refrigerator 😃.
It's not really finely shredded is just regular shredded , it melts a bit greasy . But if you want better cheddar you gotta pay up , this is really the only affordable option for your shredded cheddar .. it's fine for quesadillas or as a topping .
Great value "regular" shredded sharp cheddar used to be great. But now for some reason, only the "finely" shredded is available. Because there is so much powder applied to the fine shreds (to keep them from sticking together) compared to the regular shreds, the taste is different and it melts weirdly. I won't be buying it any longer. Too bad.
Used to only buy this cheese, the last two bags are DIFFERENT! Thought the first odd one was maybe a fluke and gave benefit of the doubt...but the next one is the same. This is more like plastic than cheese, no longer melts and is covered in some kind of powder now. Terrible change, will no longer purchase. Review pic is after 20 minutes, on an already hot dish in a 400 degree oven....LOOK AT IT. That is not what cheese looks like after baking!
Why even bother putting the easy open strip and the reseal zip in the bag?! 4 bags in a row and it is impossible to open without a sharp object, and once it is open the zip doesn't stay zipped anyway. All it does is cause undue frustration, so just get rid of it if you can't be bothered to make it actually function properly.
