Great Value Shredded Hash Browns, 4 lbs Bag (Frozen)

These are so versatile. I use them for hash browns, or with corned beef, or in soup. The possibilities are endless. They are frozen diced potatoes and cook up super fast because of the size. I always have a bag on hand. If you are on a budget, you can whip up some potato soup with cheese really fast. Cooking them is very easy!

These are by far THE BEST frozen potatoes you can buy. It is obvious that the factory employees care about your food. You never have to worry about rodent droppings in these very fresh and clean hash browns. Seriously, check inside the bottom of the bag of other brands. I know what I am talking about! If you want the best quality, you found it. They cook up crispy in butter. Put a lid on the pan for the first 5 minutes, and maybe a teaspoon of water to let the steak defrost them. Fry. Continue cooking uncovered after adding salt, pepper, chopped green peppers, and bacon bits. Flip and continue cooking. When brown, add cheddar cheese and flip one last time. As soon as the cheese is crispy, turn and serve. Enjoy.

I didn't even mean to buy these. I was in a rush and thought I was grabbing shoestring French fries. I normally don't eat hash browns at all, so I had to figure out what to do with a giant bag of them. That mistake turned into a win. I ended up using them in a breakfast casserole, and it was so good that this is now a weekly breakfast in our house. These hash browns cook up beautifully, get a great texture, and taste fantastic. They're easy to work with, delicious, and an excellent value for the size of the bag. What started as an accident is now a staple in our freezer. I'd definitely recommend them.

I add chopped onions salt %26 pepper %26 garlic powder. Then on med heat I let the hash browns cook in a small amount of oil long enough for them to brown. Then flip them over , put a lid on %26 turn the heat off. After the rest of breakfast is ready I plate the hash browns %26 they are perfectly awesome!!

I was extremely upset because there were so many black spots on the potatoes it's like they didn't even clean the potatoes before they shredded them I spent more time picking out all the black spots and it was a waste of time I might as well just have done my own potatoes at that point

The large bag of frozen hashbrowns I received in my pickup order on 1/27/23 had an expiration date of almost 2 months ago (Dec 2, 2022). When I shop in-store I always check dates because very frequently I find items well past their expiration dates. For medical reasons I could not shop myself this time. I am now worried about doing online grocery pickup at Walmart again. This is not the first time I have received expired product in my order. I do understand it is hard to keep this from occurring on the shelf, but OGP shoppers should check dates. Very disappointed.

Why have these been smelling like yeast lately? Every bag I have gotten has been a solid brick and when I open them and put them on heat, they smell heavily yeasty, which they never have in the past. Tasted off. I've been through 4 different bags from different locations like this. Not sure what's going on, but I guess we'll have to stop purchasing.

These had a very spoiled taste! I made soup %26 a casserole with these and the flavor was awful. It tasted like the potatoes were rotten. Had to throw all the food away. Thank god I didn't make them for an event and fed to other people. Not cool Walmart, do better.

1 Star Rating: Ordered online for delivery. WM's 3rd party picker marked original item ordered as “unavailable” %26 substituted it with this larger ( $3 more expensive) bag. The “In Store” shows “In Stock”, so does Sparky. Lazy people? Or is WM Neighborhood Market's online quantity wrong??

Initially ordered a much smaller 2lb bag, but the item was said to be not available and this was the suggested replacement. I assumed it would be a similar size replacement so just clicked the approval. Now I have a bag of potatoes that takes up half of my freezer...very inconvenient...
