These are always in my freezer. Super easy to make and they actually turn out good. Nice crispy edges if you cook them right, and soft in the middle. Perfect for breakfast, quick dinners, or those “I need something fast” moments. They cook evenly and do not get weird or mushy like some frozen potatoes can. Simple, reliable, and always get eaten. I keep buying these because they make life easier.
I use these for casserole and soups. Just toss a bag of these still frozen in your crockpot with some seasonings and chicken broth for a 5 hours and then add some butter and milk and you will have a wonderful potato soup.
Fantastic to use in potato salad! Pour frozen potatoes into boiling water. Bring back to a boil. Boil 5 minutes. Drain well and proceed with your favorite additions. Super quick %26 easy!
I had put off trying these diced potatoes because I felt they might turn out with a texture issue after being frozen but much to my surprise, they turned out perfectly for my potato soup. I hate peeling potatoes and have put off making the potato soup because of that. Now I know and believe me, we are going to be having potato soup more often now. I enjoy most everything I buy with the house brand and with that I save pennies to dollars on items. No more hesitation from me!
These little potatoes are so delicious They're perfect for Sunday breakfast they're mild. You can add your own onions and green peppers and seasoning. I recommend them.
I didn't look closely enough and found I had ordered square hash browns. I found that once cooked they were good tasting. They are great tasting and cook up fine. If these were used in other dishes they would work fine. It depends on desired use. However I believe they should be named something else. Square Hash browns, etc. I wouldn't call them hash browns though.
I got the "2 lb" bag. the instructions say to cook only half of it at a time. it wasn't enough food. I hadn't cooked cubed potatoes before, only shredded hash browns. so I'm not sure if it's a Me problem, or that they're shorting the amount of potatoes, or something else.
I had a bag of these hash browns in my freezer. I wanted to make mashed potatoes but didn't have fresh. 💡moment. These were just plain cubbed potatoes, I microwaved a bowlful adding milk and butter, then using only a fork they were soon tasty mashed potatoes. Since then I have used them in soups, potato salad, slow cooked meat and even a dish I have named "Cheater Scalloped Potatoes". I rated 4 because, like many other frozen products, you will find a few cubes with dark spots that I discard. My last remark is to use your imagination and you will find these useful in many dishes. How easy to open a bag and pour.
These turn mushy unless you want to cook on high and babysit your skillet. Good for a casserole but l prefer shredded hash browns over these. Taste doesn't really come in to play, depends on how they are seasoned. Many pieces of frozen rotten potato also. Won't buy again …
Texture was bouncy and did not taste like potato. Many brown spots and odd shaped cubes. Tossed the potato dish and threw balance of potatoes in the trash!
