Great Value Sweet Hawaiian Rolls

Pamela July 11, 2026

I bought the Great Value Sweet Hawaiian Rolls, part was to go with dinner and another to make slider sandwiches. On a plus side the rolls were fresh and soft. On the other side these rolls were way to soft, the stuck to the card board tray they were so soft I could pull them apart properly and couldn't cut them in half without squishing them. The taste was ok but they were doughy like if they weren't cooked but they were so it was just really odd texture as you're eating them. Maybe after they sit out a day or so, like "day old bread" they will firm up a bit? So, I am not sure if I'd say I would recommend them or not at this point.

Sticky rolls

Breanne July 17, 2026

I've purchased these before and enjoyed them. Unfortunately, this batch seemed to be underbaked. The rolls were sticky and almost doughy in the center. They didn't hold up when I tried to slice them in half and I couldn't use them for sliders. I hope this was just an isolated issue.

These were slight, like they hadn't been baked long enough. They just smooshed when I tried to slice them open for sliders, instead of having the pillowy bread texture of King's Hawaiian Rolls. I was disappointed but lesson learned, some items cannot be substituted with a cheaper version and these are definitely one of them

These were almost completely raw on the inside and it wasn't just one bag it was two of them and they were both raw and doughy.

YUCCCCK

tarren July 5, 2026

like others have stated, these rolls are terrible. Before the white tray was added, they were great, we used them instead of the name brand with no issue. We just got 2 packs to make sliders, noticed the addition of the white tray (was actually excited about it) just to open the bag to sticky, doughy, undercooked rolls that stuck to the tray %26 what i could pull away, was a ball of mush. 0/10. YUCK

I was buying 2 to 3 packages weekly and they were great. Then they switched their baking procedure and started baking these in cardboard trays similar to Kings Hawiian Rolls only these seem to be undercooked! Like they were not baked long enough. I can't slice them as they are too doughy. I'm not buying any more till this problem is fixed.

I have never, ever had an issue with great value food until today. I opened this package of rolls and had an awful time getting them separated from the cardboard tray. As I was cutting them long way, I noticed that my bread knife was not going through until I pulled the top back and noticed that the inside was doughy, not cooked all the way through. Had to throw in the trash. Disappointed.

Buy Kings Hawaiian not Great Value!

Susan July 21, 2026

I bought 4 of these to make slider for a group. Some of the bread stuck to the bottom packaging. I couldn't get the knife to slice the top from the bottom. It all gummed up like it wasn't baked long enough. I threw it away and opened a second one. The same problem. Threw them away and went back to the store to buy the real Kings Hawaiian rolls. They sliced perfectly.

Not worth the savings

Karie July 12, 2026

I purchased two packs and both were gummy and would not hold up to a sharpened bread knife without being flattened. There was a lot of bread wasted with the bottom sticking to the packaging. Not worth the savings. Ended up sending my husband out to purchase name brand rolls that I knew would hold up to my recipe. I will not be purchasing these again.

Waste of money, very doughy!

anonymous July 25, 2026

The bread was extremely doughy. I tried to save some money and decide to try the store brand. Next time I'll stick with what I know. The bread was stuck to the box, you try to peel it off and it balls up and completely loses its shape. It was going to be used for sliders but since it lost its shape we tried to use for sandwiches but it was too doughy to eat. We tossed it.
