I prefer a sliced cheese that is sliced thicker than this was. The cheese was excellent, but I just didn't get the very cheesy taste I crave. The flavor was very good, so was the texture. We used it on salads, sandwiches, cheeseburgers (of course), poutines, and French Onion Soup.
Great Value Swiss Thinly Sliced Cheese, 8 oz, 21 Slices is a versatile option that delivers a mild, nutty sweetness and a rich, creamy texture. Each slice is easy to layer and melt over sandwiches, eggs, or even burritos for a quick, satisfying meal. It's a good source of calcium, making it a nutritious addition to breakfast, lunch, or snacks. The thin slices allow for easy portioning and smooth melting every time. Convenient, flavorful, and budget-friendly—sure to become a staple in your kitchen.
Always purchased brands from Walmart only a few store brands. Now that I have to find an alternative to save money, I readily buy the Great Value brand of items I would pay more for. I read product reviews, I decided I should buy and see if I‘ll like it. I LIKE IT My grilled cheese sandwiches taste just as good using this brand.
The Swiss cheese was very good. My problem with this is the value and mislabeled or wrong information. The Swiss cheese title says i was ordering a 8 ounce package of cheese while i was delivered a 6.8 ounce packet of cheese. So NOT as good a value as i thought it was
I bought this by mistake, I did not know there was a thicker slice option for this GV Swiss. The price point out weighs the fact that this barely qualifies as Swiss, it is not aged enough. That makes this baby Swiss. I struggle with the thinner slices, I prefer a single thicker slice. Still, has to be 5 stars for the price and convenient resealable bag.
Mild with a nut like flavor, several slices with grapes or apple slices are a light dessert or a refreshing snack. My favorite sandwich combines the cheese grilled with mushrooms and greens on artisanal bread. Whether tucked onto omelets, casseroles or salads, it's exceptionally vetsatile and reasonably price.
Walmart cheese stands up with the rest of the stores. most of the time they're just slightly cheaper. I made Price chopper big time between four grocery stores in my area.
I ordered sliced cheese online for pickup. What I received was not what I ordered and not listed online. 6.9 oz instead of 8oz...18 slices instead of 24 no notice of swap received. Picker may have made an error but it was the only item at issue so I think the store inventory was not accurate.
The picture on the left is what is shown on website/app, 21 slices and 8oz. Picture on the right is what I received, 18 slices and 6.84oz. I have purchased this same product with every weekly order for a few years. The lesser amount has been delivered for a couple of months, if not more.
I am sorry swiss cheese that somebody did you wrong and by somebody I mean the Weekly Shooper. Where are you Swiss Cheese did you get left behind? Did you never get picked? Did you fall out of the bag oh wait, OH NO!!! Swiss Cheese Are You Stuffed In Somebody's Trunk?? Are you there now melting in this heat eeeewww are you smelly cheese now? Well swiss cheese if you are I hope you reach your full potential and STINK it up because you were meant to be used for so many wonderful things but no you are now probably trunk carpet cheese. Best of luck cheese I hope you make them clean you up and spend hours with you doing so. ** side note yes I know this is a bit "cheesy" pun intended and I am a bit bitter however missing items and wrong items happen way to frequent with the Walmart shoppers and no body listens so maybe this will help.
