Great Value Traditional Pumpkin Pie, 36 oz (Frozen)

This is the best pumpkin pie that you can buy. I usually use Libbys Pumpkin Pie Mix in the can. I wasn't able to that this year. I bought a Marie Callendar Pumpkin Pie and the taste was horrible. I wasn't able to get a pumpkin pie from the Bakery dept, so I tried this pie. I was very surprised! The taste was perfect, the crust was like homemade. It didn't taste or have the texture of cardboard.It was easy to bake. I didn't have to cover the edges to keep it from burning.The size is large, not smaller like Mrs. Smith I would not hesitate to buy this pie.It doesn't get any better than this.

This pie is very GOOD. It taste like homemade. After being disappointed by the GV store pie (you must have changed the recipe) because I bought the GV pumpkin store pie last year and it tasted just like the frozen--SO GOOD. So, I was hesitant about buying the frozen. PLEASE NEVER CHANGE THE TRADITIONAL WALMART PUMPKIN PIE (frozen). Just a suggestion--buy the store one (kingman, az store) and buy the frozen. You will see what I mean. I won't buy the GV store pie again.

I have tried this and Marie Calendar pies both many times and I used to feel that the GV pie's crust was not up to snuff but this time it came out with an ideal crust around the edges, it had a heavenly chew. I've also had several GV pies that were overfilled (or the crust was too low) and they ran over in the oven. Not this one. All these pies tend to have a soggy bottom crust and this one was no worse than other brands. I may be putting the shelf too high in the oven so the bottom does not cook right? The spice level was traditional. It begs for some whipped cream.

This pie is tasty! Just bake it ten minutes longer than directions recommended. That makes It firm up completely. Then let it cool. It's so good. Perfectly spiced. I was so pleasantly surprised. It's a yummy pie!

Read some of the reviews and thought I should go ahead and try it to see how bad it could be before the holidays. That way I could try something else also. Well I will go no further in trying. This was great. The pie was full not half filled, the taste was awesome. I loved it and so did mom. I bakes it on a cookie sheet at 350 for 65 minutes and it was perfect. Put foil around the crust so it did not over bake and left the center un covered. It could not have turned out any better. The price is right the taste is great. I was happy with it.

I did not like the filling. There was something that I kept getting that was kinda hard..Not sure if it was a spice that didn't soften or what... I could not eat it. It was not the pumpkin pie I'm used to. It was not good..

I bought two of these pies on sale.. they were delivered and I noticed there was a tear on the boxes but knew they would be wrapped in plastic . The tear was small so I couldn't see inside the boxes. I just took one out to cook and the plastic is all torn off. So I took the other out and it also is all torn off. I've had in the freezer so it too late for a refund but I'll be sure to check sale items closer from now on. I don't trust to cook and serve after the plastic is not intact.

This pie was really bad. As another reviewer wrote, it seemed to stay too soft on the inside and didn't firm up like it was supposed to. Another reviewer wrote that it had a metallic taste. I didn't get metallic, but it tasted almost fishy like there was fish oil in it or something. I read over the ingredients and have no idea what would make it taste like that. Another reviewer commented about hard bits and I noticed that too, but I would say it was almost like little bits of coconut that you can't chew up all the way or like little pieces of paper. Maybe the pie I got was just bad or something, but it was not right at all. The crust was great though.

pie was not solid, it was liquid, I just threw it away. Will not order another pie. they had packed on it side instead of flat and was all over inside the box. terrible

I purchased this same pie a month earlier and it was excellent. This pie had pumpkin filling all over the inside of the plastic cover and the pie had uneven filling with pumpkin filling all over the crust.
