I use these vanilla baking chips in recipes that call for white chocolate chips. Their name brand counterparts are double/triple in price, so I'm grateful Walmart carries this affordable option. The flavor is really good, and I can't tell much of a difference in flavor.
The Great Value Vanilla Flavored Baking Chips are a delicious addition when I want to add a subtle vanilla sweetness to cookies or dessert recipes. The flavor is mild but noticeable, complementing other ingredients nicely without overpowering them. Perfect for baking with my three teenage sons, these chips help create treats that are both tasty and unique. They hold up well under heat and add a lovely creamy texture to whatever we're making. Overall, these vanilla baking chips are a wonderful option to diversify our baking adventures and bring a little extra flavor to the table.
We use these primarily as a snack. White chocolate candy bars and truffles can be so expensive that I started buying bags of baking chips instead. Their butterscotch is good too, but has a much more artificial taste. The vanilla flavor is absolutely delicious and a few chips is like a bite of a bar. This is generally at least twice the size/weight of the bars and costs less. We love Ghirardelli but we highly recommend trying this variety before the more expensive white chips. As far as baking, I have no idea. The bag never makes it long enough to bake into my brownies and cookies like I intend.
These Vanilla flavored chips are perfect to add to any dessert you're making. They taste great. The flavor is more on the subtle side but still tasty. I made a fence to pour on top of a drip style cake and it turned out awesome with these! It melted wonderfully
The brand I normally buy was out of stock so I got these and I actually like them better than the other name brand! We melt them with whipping cream to make white chocolate sauce for our morning lattes. It tastes better with these chips and even melts better!
I have been buying these for years. They taste creamy and with a hint of vanilla... delicious! They taste more like White Chocolate candy. Great price and well worth it. They melt in your mouth.
Imma European chocolate snob so I was prepared to dislike these but I was pleasantly surprised! Yummy creamy and vanilla'y - Happy camper, I just ordered 8 bags. Tehee
While they tasted like vanilla, when I melted them for a dessert, the color was not white, but more of a yellow/white. I mention this in case someone was looking to create a white food item, as was I. The semi-sweet chocolate chips work well to compliment the very sweet taste of the vanilla. Happy baking!
Ordered from store of home delivery. Some in bag been melted, n hard. I do not get out, have home deliver on all my food and etc. Quess, have to order in winter n stock up.
These are alright for what I needed them for, but I wouldn't get them if I could afford higher quality candy melts. I've had these to add in pancakes, to make truffles, to add to cakes, cheesecake, cookies, to cover fruit, etc. They work, but the taste is a bit, fake tasting to me, and for the price and amount you get, I don't like the fake taste. If you can afford better, I would go for that; but if not, these will do what you want, they just don't taste as good as what I've had before.
