I like this as much as the name brands whipped toppings. It’s considerably less expensive which considering what I think are its qualities is a major plus. I use it on strawberry shortcake, on banana splits, and in fruit smoothies since I don’t care for yogurt. I’m very happy with Great Value Whipped Topping!
I tried this over other brands, and it was as good, if not better. There are so many Wal-Mart products I've switched to, because they save me so much money, and I can't tell the difference. With prices soaring, Wal-Mart has become my go-to for groceries.
I always buy Great Value Whipped Topping! Hands down a better cost option and the taste is comparible...not much difference at all. My kids will put it in the freezer and eat it versus me buying ice cream at a higher cost. They get excited to see it when unloading the groceries!
We did a blindfolded side-by-side comparison with the famous name brand, and our family picked the Great Value every time, for creaminess, flavor, and lightness. When I make my summer salads, like watergate salad, GV brand is what I buy. Never had watergate salad, here's my recipe... 1 (3.5 oz) package of pistachio pudding 1 (20 oz) can Great Value crushed pineapple 1 small tub Great Value Whipped Topping 1/2 bag of Great Value miniature marshmallows (regular or fruity) About 12 maraschino cherries, halved In a large bowl, mix the dry pudding mix with the crushed pineapple and juice, until combined. Add tub of GV whipped topping and marshmallows. Mix all together. Add cherry halves and mix again. Cover and store in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Serve cold and enjoy!
This is seriously good. You can not tell the difference in taste of the major whipped topping in the freezer section but what you can tell is the difference in price. This is way cheaper and has the exact same ingredients as the name brand. No reason to ever buy name brand when you can get Great Value. Can not go wrong buying this. Makes a great topping for cakes, pies and ice cream.
Although I use this for a few other things, my biggest use is for what I call a Pineapple Sunshine Cake. There is virtually no difference between GV brand and the name brands and for a lot less in price! I scrape the container in to the bowl and deliberately leave a tad in the container to just eat alone while the cake is cooling. lol
for the price i pretty much eat the whip like it's pudding or soup or yogurt and then reuse the spiffy container like it's tupperware; thaws fast and doesn't separate or get weird if you refreeze it; well worth the value price considering you get a free "leftovers" or salad-to-work bowl.
A good frozen topping product. It is creamy and sweet and holds its texture. I keep mine frozen so it is always fresh when I use it -- mostly for deserts. It is great with pumpkin pie, cherry cobbler, etc. I also use it for homemade pudding topping to add visual and taste appeal.
The last 5 times I've bought this it's been bad smells ruined and the taste made me sick literally I believe they have been set out and refrozen. My sister has said the same thing she had me smell hers and it was ruined bad and frozen still brought home from the store. I believe someone needs to make sure the kids no to not let them sit out and they can't be refroze that's a no no kids! If a product made me physically sick that's bad! I hope this will raise concerns and this issue resolved if I keep getting bad ones and my sister also then they all are bad and need thrown out!
I ordered this on Jan 14, 2026. I used it to make a topping in a congealed salad on January 15, 2026. I’ve used this brand every time I made this dessert and it was always good. This time it was awful. It definitely did not taste like whipped topping. When I had added to my other ingredients and placed it on top of jello I tasted the dessert. I did not taste good so I looked at all my ingredients and of course tasted the whip topping. It had a funky smell and tasted like plastic. It left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. I told my son to taste it and he immediately gagged and I had to throw away an expensive dessert. Don’t know what was wrong with b it but I definitely won’t buy again
