The bread that I have purchased the last month or so hasn’t seemed to be has fresh. It’s not as soft as it use to be. I’m not sure if it’s packaging or just something that has been changed in the product. There’s a significant difference. I buy this several loaves at a time to make sandwiches for my dogs and of course eat some on occasion. However, the freshness and quality of softness just isn’t there like before.
I dont know what they're putting in the bread but the consistency of it is way off. Sometimes the bread will mold in the middle of the loaf and other times you could have a few pieces left that have gone out of date for a month and they will look normal. You can squeeze a piece in your hand and it will spring back to shape. Its not bread.
Okay, you can't beat the price at around a buck fifty, but the fact that this AND the Round bread both were 50 cents less a couple years ago just can't be ignored. They jumped to that price overnight, too. The Sandwich bread is a bit heartier than the Round, but neither has much taste, but it is what it is.
I always have gotten this bread due to the great price. However, the quality of this bread has significantly declined over the past year or so. I'm not a very picky person at all, but way too much of these slices have large holes in them. I know all bread sometimes has holes in it, but these are large holes. I have gotten so many loaves like this in recent months that today I was thinking I might need to get a higher bread. Tonight we were making grilled cheeses and I finally had to start throwing slices in the trash because the holes were so large. I couldnt cook my grilled cheeses with them. Who would want a sandwich like this anyway?
This was just a bad loaf of bread. It was well in date when we opened it. The first slice of bread out of the loaf was very dry. The second piece had a hard piece in corner we had to pop off. I don't really know how to describe the texture other than it was just off, something wasn't right about it.
I get bread about every 2 orders or so. For the last 3 months if/when I order bread it is a little hard when it gets here. Within a couple of days I can’t eat it! If I want hard bread I will order the dried bread for stuffing! Bread is meant to be SOFT! Because of this I no longer order bread from you and have a friend go to another store to get me FRESH bread.
There's something definitely wrong with Great Value bread!! I normally freeze a loaf immediately after buying. however, after only a week in the freezer, portions of the entire loaf become hard and after thawing. No, I'm not talking about freezer burn! I'm thinking ADDITIVES! Great Value is the only bread that I've had such problems!
Arrived with an order of rotten meat and was contaminated my entire order smells like rotten chicken Walmart customer service is horrible You pay extra for a shopper and they deliver the items that should be thrown away It seems intentional lately I never receive quality items Walmart plus is an excuse for them to give you sub par low quality food and you can’t return it I was given an order that smelled so awful it was disgusting
Great Value White Sandwich Bread (Enriched) causes injurious stretchmarks on inner thigh skins; where there are a lot of these stretchmarks in one area of the skin...they become an injury. The type of bread stated above also causes stretchmarks on the skin of the upper inner sides of a person's arm-biceps. What Great Value/Walmart has to do is: Find what chemicals Great Value (brand by Walmart) is putting into bread that is causing these injurious stretchmarks on people's bodies. This type of injurious chemical may be considered to be a foreign object in bread. Just Two slices of the bread can cause an injury to inner thigh skins with a concentration of stretch marks.
The texture is not what bread normally feels like. I squeezed four slices and left them on a plate on my counter for two days and each piece retained the shape. They didn’t mold or harden. I thought this bread was natural, but for this to happen, there must be preservatives.
