There is something just different about frozen corn. Everyone likes it. Adding real butter makes it even greater. I don't bother with the smaller bags anymore. This is the one to get. Compared to canned it's just not the same. The fresh corn on the cob the pan is not large enough or it takes too long. I also don't need butter on my nose. This is the perfect solution.
Great Value Frozen Corn has fantastic flavor, especially when you spice it up with a bit of butter, salt, and pepper. It cooks perfectly on the stovetop just by simmering, and the kernels are mostly free of cob, which is a nice touch. It's definitely a great value for the price. My only wish is that it came in a resealable bag for easier storage, but otherwise, it's a solid frozen corn option.
I'm very pleased with this vegetable. Works perfectly for freeze drying. Great for using while making different soups. Dried ingredients for soups or stews are nice to have in your backpack. Camping or hiking essentials. Just add hot water and you have a nice hot meal. At home I like to have these as a regular side with a meat meal. Even my overly picky spouse will eat this. Price is very competitive with other brand names. And the quality is excellent. Super to add into other recipes.
I use this for making “corn pudding “ 32oz corn, 4 eggs beaten, 4 tbsp ap flour, 1/4 cup melted butter 1 cup half and half, 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp salt — a little finely diced onion (to taste) a little finely minced green bell pepper (to taste) pour into greased baking dish - bake at 350 degrees for 1 and a half hours! (Side dish - not dessert)
I am ok with the products I ordered However I am upset bc because I can't get any customer support service when I call regarding my $12.95 I spend to join online delivery! I received a email telling me to renew my subscription and give Walmart another credit card information I am not going to do that and my card is locked and it's too cold for me t get out and go to a Walmart store
Tastes good. Used to be better. Kernels are a little too mature looking, like they've been on the cob just a few days too long. Could be the kind of corn has been changed. Used to be sweeter and not “tough”. Not a bad value, if it gets any more expensive, I will probably stop buying it and find a better value and flavor.
I got this to make a salad with red onions, tomatoes, avocados, and then added coriander, salt, and pepper. It is absolutely delicious! And tbh I forgot to cook the corn in the oven first so we ate it frozen (lol). OMG we weren't even out of bed the next morning and my 6 yo was already begging to have more!
I usually buy the 5 lb bag of the Great Value frozen whole kernel corn. A friend told me about it after she bought it and said how much she liked it compared to the cans of corn. I bought it to try and I really liked it too. It tastes like fresh sweet corn off the cob and I've been buying it ever since. But this last time I bought it I got the 2 lb bag instead. I was very disappointed. This bag of corn has little hard pieces all in it like they cut into the cob and it's all mixed up with the corn. I've only used 2 or 3 servings out of it and I guess I'll be throwing away the rest of the bag. I hate to have to do that with the price of groceries nowadays but it's uneatable the way it is now. ☹️
This used to be my favorite when it was a chewy and soft. However the last several bags have been infected with too much cob so it is a challenge to eat it. It is so bad. I'll have to switch to Hanover for a while and maybe try this again down the road. I'm not going to be wasting money on this for a while. It's a pity because is was soooo good.
This says it is steamable bag in the title and description but it is absolutely not. You must remove the corn and put in a microwave safe container to steam it - the bag is not made for it. How disappointing as I did not have the container for that amount.
