It's milk, use it for drinking or cooking. Bathe in it if you want. It tastes fine though that's no guarantee the bottle you buy will taste fine, they're not from the same batch. I bought this milk a long time ago so if you're buying from the same batch it's most likely expired, I wouldn't recommend it at all. But if you're buying a new one then I say go for it! Honestly I'm not sure why you're reading a review of just regular milk, chances are you've had it before. It blows my mind that Walmart want me to review milk. But it's one less thing popping up on my screen to do when I log in now so there it is.
My review of milk from Walmart. This is ridiculous. Who would even read the reviews on milk? And what am I supposed to even say? Like this milk is milk just like all milk I’ve been drinking since 1982! Hopefully now if you were on the fence about your purchase of a gallon of milk you can rest assured that you have made the right choice and can move on to other difficult decisions such as eggs or orange juice. Good luck because you need it.
I bought whole milk, by mistake. I have bought 1%, or skim for ever. I decided to give it a try, and I instantly noticed that I enjoyed the difference. My heart doctor recommends, no fat...I've done that for years. I am elderly now, and I want to eat and drink whatever I want. I loved the whole vitamin D , Great Value Milk.
This milk makes excellent cottage cheese. You'll never get good cottage cheese from bad milk. The cottage cheese is soft, holds its shape, has large flakes, and is delicious. There's also some liquid left over, which can be used to make excellent, soft pancakes.
It always tastes a little bitter for what is supposed to be sweet milk. The lipase activity is very high. I am 76 years old, I am an old country boy, and I have milked the cows and drunk whole milk my entire life. I do know what fresh milk should taste like. Spoilage, lipase activity, diet, medication, and improper storage conditions for instance, can produce lactic acid, giving it a sour taste and contributing to bitterness. But what can you expect for $2.48 per gallon 1.9 ¢/fl. oz. Watch your use-by date, milk should be used within seven days after opening for the best freshness. Just keep in mind that these dates aren’t always the best indicator of a milk’s freshness. The ideal temperature for keeping milk in the refrigerator is around 32 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. If you get too far outside of this range, your milk will not stay fresh for nearly as long as it could. Time and temperature abuse is the most common issue for milk spoilage and should not be left out of refrigeration for any length of time. Get it out use what you need and put it right back in the refrigerator. Walmart is set to open its third milk processing facility in Robinson, Texas, which is located between Dallas and Austin. This facility is expected to open in 2026. I am hoping it will help improve the freshness and overall taste of their milk.
I want to love this milk. Really, I do. It’s affordable, it’s convenient, and thanks to Walmart I don’t even have to put on real pants to get it. But unfortunately, this milk has one fatal flaw: it sours faster than my mood when someone puts a meeting on my calendar at 4:30 PM. We’re talking “expires February 20” but tastes like February 3rd last year energy. Every time I open a new gallon, it’s like playing dairy roulette. Will it be fresh? Will it already smell like it’s auditioning to become cheese? Who knows! It keeps me on my toes, I’ll give it that. I normally get my milk from Rouses or Publix, where dairy apparently lives a long, fulfilling life, but since I’ve been trying to stick to one store with Walmart , this gallon keeps reminding me why monogamy with grocery stores is risky. Looks like I’ll be making a separate milk run after all… because nothing says “living the dream” like driving across town for unsoured Vitamin D.
HOME DELIVERY WALMART . I have opened 3 gallons of this milk and poured 2 down the drain that were about half full. The one today was 6 days short of the expiration date. I met the 3 separate deliveries at the door and the milk went directly into the refrigerator. Headed to my other grocery store to buy milk now. Walmart must do better than this. I may order again but I won't buy milk again.
It never fails. Whether I get the milk in store and take it straight to my house, or have it delivered, it spoils within 3-4 days. The expiration date might be 10 days to two weeks from purchase date, but it has never even come close. Walmart is good about granting refunds even for this reason.
The expiration date was 3/6/2026 and it soured already. Today is March 1 and there was a half gallon left and I had to dump it out. This has happened to me 3 X before. My refrigerator works and the storage temp is always 38 degrees F. This has also happened with the Great Value 2% fat milk.
it had a hole in the jug milk leaking everywhere and Walmart wants me to drive it all the way back to the store instead of just giving me credit I have my groceries delivered because I had a stroke and can't drive I'm not driving a gallon of milk to the store that's going to be empty by the time I get there cuz of the hole on the side of it
