Best Cod Fish

Kathryn July 22, 2025

Fish is a major part of my normal nutrition. This cod fish is perfect for single meal. Whether you pan fry or bake, this is the best fish and somewhat affordable. Only complaint is the number of fillets in each bag, sometimes you get 4 nice size fillets while this last time only three.

EASY FISH %26 CHIPS!!! IFYKYK!!

Alison July 17, 2026

Alright, so sometimes I just need Fish %26 Chips homemade by me. I double batter these and fry the you know what out of them until I think they're done (and they always are), golden brown and crunchity. IYKYK! Then I HAVE TO HAVE a few other things, this includes Malt Vinegar and because I'm a general nuisance I want Inglehoffer Tartar Sauce with Lemons %26 Capers AND because I'm extra, I make my own spicy mayo with Siracha. My chips are pretty simple because sometimes I'm lazy...I wash off a couple of Russet potatoes and slice them round and thin, then throw those in a pan with extra canola oil and coarse ground Kosher Salt and Fresh Cracked Pepper. You can bring the sides because this is a lazy meal and then we can go watch some movies on the couch. Love, Mom

I like Cod fish, bc of the thick, flaky texture. This 1 pound pack came with 3 pieces in it for a little over $8. Wish it was cheaper, maybe like $5, but what can one expect with the price of everything ele having skyrocketed. I've bought this fish brand many times. Never gotten one that smelled fishy.

Weird texture

Shay November 12, 2025

I do not like the texture of these. The taste is good. The size of each fillet is small, but there are a lot in the package. It's easy to cook, and lasts a long time. I just feel like the texture is either chewy or dry. It's not flakey like other brands.

They aiiiggghhhttt

Nicole July 12, 2026

I had bought both the GreatValue frozen cod and the Marketside frozen cod and ended up like the Marketside better. They were individually wrapped compared to the GreatValue which were not wrapped and they were thicker. Overall, I preferred the Marketside cod of the GreatValue. Weren't terrible but weren't the best.

somebody when they package them and their packaging plant are either on pumps liquid into them because when they Thaw, it shrinks by half the size. so value to you money oh it's up to you. I don't think I'll buy it again because it doesn't fit my taste buds

walmarts frozen fish isnt the greatest

Linladyhappy April 21, 2026

its ok. for same price can get better cod elsewhere, even frozen. its dry, not very flavorfull. i dont have elsewhere often, so occaisionally buy this for frying or soups/curry (because its not great quality for sauteeing/baking) - for price per pound, there are other better quality proteins (including non frozen fish) avail in store.

Not a boneless fillet

April November 9, 2025

This fish is flavorless. Of course I seasoned it, but even then the flavor was gone. I prefer a white flaky fish and the texture of this fish was anything but light and flakey. This fish isn't going to be on our list again. I couldn't finish the fillet I made for myself because I found fish bones. I know the bag does not say boneless, but I thought that was implied. The fillets are a pretty large size, but shrank to half the size will cooking. On the plus side, it does not have a strong fishy smell while cooking.

Unnecessary additive.

Angel March 17, 2026

This product has toxins in it, tripolyphosphate. Why add this to food? This causes me headaches. I did not pay attention to the ingredients before purchasing it. I just assumed they would simply include fish. I paid attention only after consuming the product. I will not purchase it again. If I could have, I would have given this zero stars.
