This was a great experience for me and my daughter, who always said that she did not like cod fish. I seasoned two pieces of them with salt, black pepper, onion and garĺlc powder, and a little bit of cayenne pepper. Dusted them with a very light coat of all-purpose flour and pan-fried them at medium heat using 3 TBS of extra virgin olive oil, 3 minutes per side. Oh my, oh my! My daughter was delighted and asked me to keep buying and cooking them more often. I loved this fish, it turned out crispy on the outside and flaky, tender, and tasty on the inside! Great for delicious fish tacos too, as per recipe on the package!
The fish that is in the deli is previously frozen and starts to smell to soon. I come previously from New England ...near Glouster, and I learned that the fish is not farmed, and is frozen right away , so when I buy it frozen it will be the freshest when thawed. So I trust that I am getting the very best ....as long as it is not farmed. .... It's delicious!
Bought this product maybe 3 times I think. It does shrink up a bit when baked. I first rinse it off pat it dry and than bake it with butter ,salt, pepper ,lemon and garlic with a sprinkle of parsley. Also I add jasmine rice and bake approx 45 Minutes maybe 1 hour. I do cover it with foil when it's baking. It's so good and it taste fresh and it never has any sort of a fish taste . It's perfect every time and never dry. . I've only found 2 pin bones in 1 piece out of all three packs that I've bought. I would recommend this product and I'll keep buying. By the way just for me each pkg makes me 4 to 6 meals. Go get you some it's honestly delicious
I haven't had a chance to cook any, yet, as I have been super busy, but the very minute they arriived I vacuum sealed them individually and put them in the freezer. They look delicious. I will be baking them, most likely. I could fry them and make fish tacos. Either way, Cod is a great fish to eat.
I purchased my fish from vital choice for years until they got bought out by the same company as one 800 flowers. So I tried the Walmart cod and was really pleasantly surprised. I feel like it's a good value and it's yummy. They are my go-to fish for the moment.
Great product at a reasonable price. Easy to cook in about 15-20 minutes and goes great with twice baked potatoes and a salad. Besides this product being a go to for most people wanting to lose weight; it also has omega-3 fatty acids that support a healthy heart and reduces inflamation. It also may improve brain function reducing the risk of demetia and is a protein source that aids in muscle growth and repairs plus supporting many other health issues.
Straight from the freezer to the air fryer and it's yummy! Cod doesn't have much flavor so you have to season it. It doesn't have a fishy taste like other fish which I actually don't like. I also don't like butter and/or lemon on my fish, so I coat with olive oil, sprinkle taco seasoning on both sides, air fry, put on a plate and wah lah easy meal. Really good with slaw for fish tacos as well. It's a bit more expensive compared to other fish fillets, so I don't purchase often.
One of my favorite fish fillets to cut into medium sized cubes dredged through a fish fry batter that leaves a light watery batter using beer. Frying in avacado oil until lightly browned on all sides. Codfish remains moist, juicy and is delicious batter fried
It seems like it has been frozen for some time and is also sourced from Indoneesia, Some pieces fell apart, the skinning process isn't 100 and I actually had a bone in one piece, luckily no one choked on it...Speaking of choking, I still can't get how W stays in business when they drop the ball on getting an ac for our 76yo vet FIL when they say they can get us one by manana. Lowes took care of it and took the $400. Not even a $5 off credit nuttin. I've gotten it for less here. Too much credits I guess. Do better W (W-)
I have bought this many times before and have never had a problem with it. till this bag it is very tough and I know how to cook fish. I've been cooking fish for over 45 years. I have no clue what happened but very unhappy. wish I could have returned it.
