I have NIkon's own charger for the EN-EL15 and I've tried Watson's chargers in the past for the same batteries. While the Nikon works as it should, it only charges one battery and is more expensive. This is great when you have to charge multiple batteries at a time. It is also well built. Unlike the Watson chargers, the plates click in very securely. The other advantage, of course, is if you need to use other batteries and Green Extreme makes a plate for it, you just need to buy the plates. The LCD screen also provides good info on the status of the charge.
When I wanted a multi bay charger for my D500 this is exactly what I had in mind. Love the versatility of being able to swap out the trays for other batteries. I also like being able to see the charging status of the battery. Great product.
I would actually say this is a huge improvement over the OEM battery charger from Nikon. A clear readout informs you of the state of the batteries and it's always nice to be able to charge to batteries at one time
Work great and allows you to charge two battery's at once and show percent batteries are charged. Recommend
Really like the percentage charged display. Very versatile charger with all the accessories for other battery types available
The double charger is fantastic, especially like the charge status windows that let you know how far the charge is on each battery
I recently picked up this charger on sale. Installed the battery plates for my EN-EL15 batteries and threw in two batteries for charging, that went well. The plates stayed in place very well, the batteries snap in & stay put even if the charger is turned upside down. The display shows each battery charging, the % of charge & a button to select a high or low charge rate (same for both batteries). There is a USB charging port so I plugged in my iPhone to test. This works fine unless you're charging 1 or 2 batteries on High. Then the charger shuts off the USB port. Works fine on the Low charge rate. Lastly, the charger is advertised as being AC & DC capable. Unfortunately the unit only ships with an AC cable. I contacted Adorama to check whether the DC cable was included (that's not listed on the product webpage). The warehouse sent me another AC cord so I guess you cannot use the DC charge feature. Another drawback it the unit's size. It is bigger than two Nikon MH-25 chargers. That makes this unit too big to travel with me.
Great charger. I assumed it came with a cord for car charging (dc). My mistake. It is dc compatible but no cord included. Really wanted a car charger to charge on outdoor jobs and between shoots in the road.
LCD screen nice feed back!
These were sent back to Adorama due to quality control issues. Device seems to be attempting to be a charger for many different types and kinds of batteries and does not accomplish this well. The invoice referred to the charging units as being made for for Canon, but the charge plates adapted it to Nikon EN-EL 15 batteries.
Plates did not fit well into charging unit or appear to make consistent contact. LCD's were difficult to read and would fade out to be completely unreadable. Power cords did not fit well or connect securely, allowing charger to lose power connection without my knowing. EN-EL 15 batteries did not always charge and did not indicate as fully charged on the LCD panels either.
Bottom line, batteries would not charge consistently, and information on LCD's was often unintelligible.
Worked as advertised the first two times I used it. The third time when I was relying on it and did not have my Nikon chargers it was a brick. Nothing about it worked and it did not even appear to be plugged in. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
