There was nothing to dislike about the lettuce. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean it was, with no spots going bad, and it was crisper than buying it whole. The lettuce I had been getting wasn't available when I placed my order online, so I chose this. Now, I will likely buy it in the future instead of watcI had been getting. The container is sealed tight, and it says "Tamper Proofed" on it.
Decades ago , when I was feeding a family of 6 I scorned these neat packages of prswased prewashed individual leaves in favor of whole heads of leaf lettuce for a lower price. Now that it's just me, I take delight it putting two slices of bread on the plate, , adding one leaf of lettuce, since sandwich meat, and cheese, and a slice of tomato iI I'm feeling ambition, and I'm done!
Excellent shelf life for Fresh Green Lettuce! Product is pre washed and dried. I do leave the product in the same container it came in to help with the longer shelf life. We use it to make shreds as well that last longer than the pre packaged shredded lettuce.
Very fresh, very crisp I was highly surprised because it’s very hard to find fresh vibrant crunchy good lettuce in Walmart, but it is very, very good lettuce. You do have to wash it even though it says pre-wash because I did see a couple bugs but other than that very fresh. And I had used it almost a week after I brought it or so I know it was a couple days and it was still extremely fresh. Maybe it was the packaging but very good product.
Open as soon as you get it home. Tear off any brown edges. Soak, then squeeze out water from a paper towel. Wrap lettuce in the damp paper towel and reclose container. Every time you take out some leaves, refresh the towel. The lettuce stays fresh and crisp for two weeks or more.
I love the fresh washed %26 trimmed green leaf lettuce however, Walmart's website sites shows the Green Giant brand with organic lettuce and when selecting this brand for pickup you get GARDEN LIFE GREEN LEAF washed %26 trimmed green leaf lettuce that is not organic. I have not been able to get GARDEN LIFE GREEN LEAF for the 1st two weeks of June 2025. I am hoping it will be available again. I find the regular loose leaf lettuce is typically too wet and turning black on the ends so I do not purchase them.
What good is it to have items set to Best Match if the shopper is just going to say “not available” and move on. I didn’t choose “Do Not Replace” and left the default “Best Match”. Obviously that setting doesn’t mean anything or I’d have some sort of lettuce instead of making a trip just to get lettuce now.
Although the lettuce sell by date was still 5 days out, the contents were very wet and one of the heads had already began to spoil and turned brown and slimy. It would probably not be visible to the shopper but is potentially a quality control issue during produce packing.
This is the third time I’ve had my food delivered from Walmart with something I ordered already expired! This is getting serious, the lettuce I had to throw out but Not before I got video of it. Expired but not as bad as the moldy raspberries I received before.
I’m disabled and must get groceries delivered. Walmart consistently sends out produce that’s rotting. I never know if I will get good produce or not. But due to my situation I still have to pay for it or do without fresh produce. This is one of the times I pay for produce I must throw away.
