GreenWorks 2119402AZ 80V 8" Brushless Cordless Li-Ion Edger - Bare Tool

5 STARS. Purchased a GW PRO 80V cordless leaf blower with the charger & (2) batteries. I am changing over my gas and corded tools to the GW multi tool 80V PRO system for my lawn/yard care. The 80V lawn edger is an amazing tool with plenty of power and precise control. I am pleased with the performance of the GW PRO 80V series. I am still waiting for the 80V cordless push mower which has been back ordered for some time to complete my GW lawn care collection.

Reduction in noise, reduction in air pollution and being fun to operate are some of the many reasons to purchase and operate this great edger. Beyond cutting the grass, edging is the second best way to improve the look of one's lawn if one is on a limited budget. Prior to purchasing the Greenworks edger, I researched the product both on-line and with several engineers who had previously purchased the product. All reports were most positive. Buy it, you will like it.

I have a few tools from the 80v line. The edger was essential for me because of all the sidewalks and areas that I have that need to be edged out. I find this tool to be very sturdy and easy to use. It’s light weight and battery life is great. I have over 1/2 an acre and allot of area to edge up. I did it all without denying the battery. Having a metal blade and a wheel to assist with depth and mobility is essential and makes the job easy.

Battery works great. I bought a lawnmower, edger and trimmer all using the 80 amp battery. Edger is quieter and I like but not as efficient as my gas one it replaced. Works just not as well. I do like how easy it is to get started and operate without the gas and smell. Not disappointed mind you just letting people know.

I have no prior experience with an edger and have a lawn that was in real need of one. So, it was difficult to line up the tool without hitting the drive or path and generating a lot of sparks. The toll also requires you to lean over so it’s not ergonomic or comfortable to use. Again, if you know what you’re doing maybe it’s easier! It certainly has cutting power and spins up fast, so hopefully I’ll figure it out in time!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Barely enough torque to do the job if over grown. After 1st use does ok. All parts are plastic, was not expeting lower guard to be plastic. 80v 4.0ah battery makes unit heavy and unbalanced. Smaller battery will give more control and less of a chor to handle.

This edger is a beast, it has plenty of power. However, it's heavy, especially with the battery inserted and somewhat awkward to maneuver on its one wheel and skid plate. It works fine along the straight edge of the driveway, but difficult to use along the curved curbing surrounding my landscaping. The blade will spark against concrete and looks like it will probably wear out pretty fast. Have used it 4 times. While it cuts a nice deep edge, my string edger was much easier to use.
