Works great so far - came fully assembled, just adjust the blade cutting height, pop in the two batteries and there was one charge bar remaining on one battery after doing the front AND back yards! Of course, it is early in the season, grass has just started to grow. But so far so good.
This 21" mower with batteries cuts my lawn so much better than any professional company and I have tried 3 different lawn companies in the past 6 years. I have had my zoysia grass commercially reel mowed and it was always a problem with 1) their equipment not working properly,2) they could not change the height of the mower cut and 3) it was very expensive. So I decided to do the lawn myself. Did not want to go thru the hassle of using a gas-powered mower. Been there, done that... always ran into problems...difficult to start, have to drain gas at end of season, change oil, etc. I have other Greenworks products (2 blowers, tiller) and have been very pleased with them all. So I decided to look into a battery powered mower. Best decision I have ever made! This mower, mulches beautifully, cuts clean, and is easy to handle and store. I use the self propel only when i am going up the hill, for it will drain the battery quicker if you use it constantly. Take a look at the pics. I am so very happy with my Greenworks mower. Just wish I had made this purchase a few years back!
Was expecting a lot and haven't been disappointed. Easy to use, cuts great and quiet. I used a competitor's battery operated self-propelled mower and felt like I was pushing an old gas engine mower. Very glad and happy I made this purchase.
I love my mower - no gas and no pull start. I have a large yard and can mow my whole yard and I still have 2 bars on my battery. The self-propelled feature is awesome and goes with you and not pulling you around the yard.
Works great. Plenty of battery for my 1/3 acre lot. Makes mowing the lawn fun!
Been looking for a long time for a self propelled Cordless Mower. Have alot of Greenworks 40V tools. Liked what I saw with this model and bought it. First time out was first mow of the season in upstate NY. Worried about some Wet Spots and how this mower would perform. Well, it performed VERY WELL, made a believer out of me as a true replacement for my older 2 stroke lawnboy mower. I love it but wish i could control the Power to the Blade manually, that is my only complaint. So far it is more than I expected and I love it.
Was so looking forward to getting this mower, but have encountered some problems. The dual batteries fully charged did not last for both front and back yards, but I can deal with that. The main problem is the self propelled feature. I am somewhat disabled and can't walk very fast . Couldn't keep up with mower when self propelled engaged. Any suggestions?
Starts and runs fine, once I got it. Cut the yard with battery life to spare but the self propelled is awkward. I have a smaller yard with lots of obstacles so I need to go back and forth quite a bit so the self propelled is useless for alot of the yard. You have to pause before you can pull it back. Even on the straight part of the yard it was still awkward to engage the SP. I found myself holding the SP handle with one hand and the other handle with my other hand. I felt like I was fighting the mower. I have only cut the yard once. I want to give it another shot to see if I can get use to it but considering a return.
I like the mower but it has an issue I'd like to have resolved. I put in a ticket that has yet to be viewed on the 'battery switch over' function. When one battery is depleted I have to remove both batteries and reinsert them into the same slots before it will recognize there is a second battery. Even when I'm using a single battery I need to add / remove a full battery twice before it will start back up. The reason this is such a large issue for me is because I actually waited until a model came out with this function... I didn't want last year's model that had a 'storage space' and this is honestly worse with the work-around I'm using. Side discharge is basically useless since it throws grass about 4-6 inches so it all clumps up on the side. Mulching function is what I use and that works great. Bagging works fine but I generally only use that to clean up leaves in the fall. The smart pace works very well so far. When I need to pull it backwards I just stop pressing on the self drive lever for a second and it works just fine. Very small learning curve but it is something to get used to. Mower run time is about 3 of the 4 ah batteries to complete my 1/3 acre lawn (not an issue since I have 3 of them, but it is something to watch out for)
HORRIBLE! The self propelled mower didn't self propell. The single plastic blade hit and mised mowing spots irregularly over my entire lawn. The company wouldn't acknowledge the several emails I sent asking for help nor did they send me a return shipping label. Don't use this company if you expect good quality service and products- you won't find those things here.
