Greenworks tools use the same battery. It cut like butter. I had no problems with the chain tension as others have reported. Maybe they just don't know chainsaws. It ran for almost 2 hours on the smallest battery. I'm older and the time was enough for me. No fumes, pull rope, or gas. Just pop a charged battery in and go.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you aren't planning on running a tree service, this chainsaw works great. Cuts through big logs and runs for a decent amount of time on a charge. You're not going to cut up an entire massive oak tree on a charge with it, but it'll get the job done eventually. I like not having to wear hearing protection while using it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I own a medium sized pecan orchard, and this is perfect for day-to-day work on the farm. Carves up branches perfectly, lasts me a few hours of work (with a backup battery). If I needed to plane any thick trunks it wouldn't suffice, but it's more than enough for what we need it for!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is an initial review, as I've only used the saw for one job so far. I've had the 40v, 16" bar for years and was very happy with it. Moving to the 80v with 18" bar has been a dream. The saw has lots of power, is well balanced, and came out of the box well assembled and ready to go. I had a Beech tree fall across the driveway -- fairly hard wood and about 19" wide at the base -- and the new 80v had it all diced up in about 2 hours. On one battery. I hope the saw keeps rocking, but so far, so good.
This is my second one of these which I used to replace several 45cc gas engine chainsaws of various types. Love it. Safely climb ladders and the trees without trying to figure how to start it at the top or carry a live saw. Cuts as well as anything i have ever had.
It is the perfect tool I need to maintain and trim trees in my yard. I do not have to deal with gasoline and the hard starts that that sometime are a problem.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Performance of unit was as expected and made the job much more efficient than the corded chainsaw we had used before. Only had to use one battery to get the job done.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought 2 18” 80volt chain saws and I am extremely satisfied with them. I will never go back to gasoline powered equipment.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a good chainsaw. It's not too heavy and the battery lasts plenty long. I have cut through many logs.
This is an actual purchase and an actual review. Expect a 10 minute runtime per charge. Very disappointed. Called Greenworks because the product is stated to have a 35 minute runtime. Customer service said there was nothing they could do, but that I could buy more batteries. Why would I buy more batteries from a company with blatantly false advertising. I would be embarrassed. This product will be returned.
