Griz Guard 7.9 oz Bear Spray with Holster

I often travel Nevada's back roads and trails, exploring old ghost towns and remote camping sites. Occasionally, I have experienced prowling mountain lions that seem to be stalking me. My mission off grid is not to shoot or kill wild life, but to discourage them from having me for dinner. this bear spray works great as a deterrent for cats, wolves and coyotes. I keep in on my side all the time when I'm off grid and gives me plenty of security. From experience, though, I highly recommend using it up wind of your target if possible. otherwise, both you and that critter will have a bad day. Hope this helps. Happy Trails. Mick

Have not actually used this yet, but it is set up to make it easy to use. Hooks on belt or waist band and is snug. Feels good knowing it will be there if I ever need it while camping.

I would highly recommend this Bear Spray Protection for ease of use, and quick use out of the holster on a your belt, while hiking in the Rocky Mountains. It is also a easy and quick if you encounter other deadly Predators, or an aggressive dog.

how am I supposed to review an item that I haven't used, and hope to never use? If a bear attacks me, and I survive, then I can write a review.

great stuff, i feel so much safer living in the forest and taking my dog on adventure walks. i will warn though lol i kind of sprayed myself some because of the position it was in the holder!! thank God it wasnt much but even the blow back was horrible!!!

This was bought for an outdoorsman and fisherman. He has seen all kinds of predatory tracks in the wild, and he has videos of bears he sees. If you have ever watched a video of people attacked by bears or killed by bears you would not want to be without a strong and easily accessible strong bear repellent. The holster keeps the can handy because if you need to retrieve it from a backpack ...it is too late.

Buy the 2-pack. MUCH better value. Easy access when used with the included spray can holder. Size is comfortable, not too big/small. Simple safety release, making emergency use fast %26 easy. While I haven't had the need to use it yet, it adds to peace of mind from my left hip %26 first choice over my personal carry weapon on my right hip.... the last resort. With plenty of wild boar, black bears, German Shepards %26 pitbulls in this wild mountain area, having a primary %26 secondary choice is always best.

Must have for those who love the great outdoor!

works absolutely amazing, exactly what i was looking for

I did try it out safely in an open area in the woods and it looks to be extremely effective. Hopefully I don't run into a bear but if I do, this thing will keep me protected. I understand it only has five seconds so I am weary of that.
