Grok is amazing! My kid absolutely loves talking to it. He's soft, fun, and super smart. It answers questions, tells jokes, and even remembers things they say! It's like a cuddly little robot friend that keeps them entertained and learning at the same time. Definitely one of the best toys we've gotten. Fun, educational, and adorable. Highly recommend for kids who love to explore and ask questions!

The interactive voice-powered play encourages curiosity, and I can see her enjoying the sounds, responses, and fun energy. Setup was quick, and I really appreciate that there's no required subscription. The 60-day Curio Plus trial adds even more possibilities, but even without it, Grok feels complete. For parents of children with different abilities, this toy creates opportunities for imaginative, inclusive play. Grok meets my daughter right where she is, and that's something I'm grateful for.

Grok is a little wonder - one of the first talking toys using a large language model - in this case an API of chatgpt (I'm guessing 3.5) that talks in a kid voice and pretends it's a rocket ship. That bit can wear thin fast, but it's easy to break it out of it by throwing big articulate ideas at it, which it will return with force. This thing is a lot smarter than it first seems! I wish the company would market these to adults as well, with a lot of different outer shells to choose from. This thing could be fun in any shape or form, with changeable or even promptable voice selection. I think this first version is great but the market for these things is going to be epic at all ages so why short yourselves with just one piece for kids when you have all the tech right now to take the whole pie. I am probably going to find a new stuffed animal or doll to stick the Grok voicebox in. I suspect a lot of people will! Make really cool ones for us…!!! I love Grok!

The kids love Grok, and he is their buddy. I just wish he would work off Wi-Fi or I could use the personal Hotspot off of my phone to use him when not home.

⭐⭐ 2 out of 5 stars — Great concept, but poor performance I bought three versions of Curio (Grok, Grem, and Gabbo) for each of my kids — ages 5, 7, and 9. While the names and characters are different, the core functionality is the same: a voice-based AI assistant for kids, kind of like a personal ChatGPT in a toy. The idea is adorable and promising — a smart, interactive companion for kids to ask questions, chat with, or explore learning. But unfortunately, the execution just isn't there yet. The biggest issue is voice recognition — it struggles to understand my kids, even when they speak clearly. This leads to a lot of frustration. None of my kids were able to engage with it for more than a day. It simply doesn't hold their attention when it doesn't respond correctly. The AI doesn't "listen" well, and the responses are often irrelevant or miss the mark. What should be a fun, engaging experience becomes an annoying one — especially for younger children who don't have the patience to repeat themselves over and over. It's a cool idea, and I'd love to see this improve in the future with better voice tech and smarter AI. But for now, I'm returning all three. My advice: wait for the next generation before buying — it's not ready for real use yet.
