This past winter, two of my girls went into hard molts. I gave them Grubblys as instructed, and they regrew their feathers so quickly. Now even with soft molting, the flock comes running when they hear "the shake" of yummy black fly larvae. I am so pleased, and so are my girls!
I have 45 chickens, more of less. I tried the World brand they offer, but it was a waste of money. My chickens looked puzzled and walked away from them. Next time I gave them Grubblies, they rushed me like a speeding locomotive, begging for them. I wont make that mistake again. Even my ducks beg for them. Only Grubblies for my kiddos!!! You cant fool the flock!!!
These grubbles are great. They are not dry and crackly like the worms but seemingly pressed. The chickens love them. 2 bags lasted forever. They truly are a game changer. I put some in a bowl. And throw some in the run. The best part is there is a ton of calcium in each little grubble, so the ladies have been eating them because they are yummy and they are getting their dose of calcium :glass_of_milk: too. I feel good feeding my chickens something they love that gives them the nutrition they need. I can tell this is a high quality yummy supplement for them. All my birds love them. We even had a stray rooster :rooster: come in our yard... it had to be the grubbles:slightly_smiling:
We are new chicken owners and I kept seeing Grubblies come up in my IG account and figured I would give them a try. The chickens are in love with them now and the kiddos get a kick out of the chickens eating them out of their hands. Definitely ordering a lot more! :)
Best product that I have purchased for my Chickens, they love their grubblies, they have to have their delicious afternoon snack everyday around 5pm, we are also pleased with the price, very affordable, this is where I purchase there Grubs from and will continue as long as my chicks are enjoying them, great ingredients, helps supplements there need for calcium, since they have started laying eggs, the shells are hard, I am getting some beautiful eggs, very happy with this product
Absolutely LOVE these treats for my chickens! As soon as I pull the bag out and they see it, they run over so fast no matter what. The quality of this is great, I noticed an improvement in my chickens egg production & happiness too ;) This is also great because they love this treat so much, I can actually teach them things. Normally I cant free range due to the city code but thanks to these treats I can let them out while supervised & if I need to get them back into the run all I do is grab this bag and they come anywhere I go. Love it!
My flock loves their Grubblies. With other black soldier fly larva, only some of my girls would eat them. But with the Grubblies, they all run over and chow down. I also love that it's made in the U.S. The people at Grubblies are fantastic and I love supporting such a great company. So for now on, it's only Grubblies for my chickens.
I'm raising meat chickens for special dietary concerns. I'm formulating their feed to contain no corn, soy, or pea protein. I'm using brown rice, barley, vitamin and mineral supplement, and grubs for added protein and calcium. The chickens are a mixture of standard breeds, but not the typical cornish rock cross hybrids, because they are also free range. I tried the world harvest grubs, but found that the chickens were not interested in them. They seem to like the hometown harvest much better, but the higher cost may become a deciding issue in formulating their feed.
My girls were very skeptical about Grubblies in the beginning. I tried hand feeding, mixed it in with crumble mash, mixed with grains, sprinkled some atop pumpkin and papaya, etc. They wouldn't touch it more than to just move it out of the way and eat around it. I invested in a lot since they were molting, so I kept offering it on the side. Eventually they were running to me when I brought it out. They go a bit nuts for them now, but not like they did for the extra-crunchy mealworms in the red bags. That may have to do with the oven-roasting. I can say my first chicken going through her molt took months, regardless of this extra protein and calcium. I'm interested in trying the costly version before deciding on the effectiveness. I fully believe cooking the larva is diminishing nutrient value.
We started off with the Grubblies from the USA. I only swapped out those to see if the price difference was worth it. I know $4 is not that much of a difference but when you're buying in bulk and the difference is $54.00 every 6 weeks it really adds up. My girls prefer the USA version of the Grubblies. One nice thing though is that the Rewards Program Grubbly offers can help offset the difference a little bit.
