Absolutely love this game! It's GREAT for parties and big family get-togethers. You have to act fast before your card slips down the slot but it definitely can be done. You can play in teams or sometimes if we just have immediate family we give points based off who shouts the right answer first. Grandma got in on it too and said she had a blast! Our son (who is too young to read) even plays. Our daughter teams up with him and whispers the word or action, he then acts it out and we all have fun guessing! We look forward to playing it on Thanksgiving & Christmas when we have an even bigger crowd. I like the game because it's easy to play. It gets you out of your seat and it plays on your creativity. Everyone has a different way of acting so by the end of the night your cheeks are hurting cause you're laughing and cheering. I also enjoy games that don't have a million pieces to set and clean up. This game is ready to go in under a minute. The only "downfall" would be 1. The timer is a bit loud. With a smaller group it might bother you but with a larger one you may not notice and 2. If you play it often you run out of cards. Though it DOES come with quite a few already, it would be awesome if you could purchase additional packs of cards to go along with your game when you've exhausted all the ones you have.
This game is a hit for everyone tons of laughs and fun
I received the Guesstures Game for free through the Walmart Spark Review program. My family loves playing this game. Putting the stickers on was a little challenging because I wanted them perfectly placed. It would be nice if the stickers were already placed, but obviously it doesn't effect the fun of playing the game. The directions have pictures to help with using the timer. The game involves acting things out without words or sounds, however using props, mouthing words and other charades techniques are encouraged. It's a race to beat the timer, get your team to guess the word and grab the card before it drops. I would recommend playing with at least 6 players, though you can play with 4. I feel the more the merrier. The game can definitely get intense with competition. Easy: Bat, Elephant, Microphone, Push, Perfume, Screwdriver, Pull, Kneel Medium: Sunglasses, Ballerina, Peel, Sharp, Knot, Drumstick, Catch, Halo Hard: Wrench, Escape, Snob, Explode, Mountain, Inhale, Star, Wedding
This is a pretty good game. It is another way to play charades. And it is lots of fun. Having three levels of difficulty with the words makes it more interesting. Each difficulty level is a different color. And having the words all ready for you is so much easier than having to think of ones yourself ahead of time. Each of the cards have 2 words on them. And you get to pick which one you want to do. There is a tray for you to keep the cards in so that it is easier to get them out when you are picking ones to use for play. And you can store them in it in the box. Having the game board type thing to put the cards into is kind of cute. It looks like the thing that they use when they make movies. Its makes it fun to set things up. And with it having the timer aspect made into the movie thing makes it easier than using a timer. It is easy to keep score with how the rules are. And if you don't want you can just play for fun and not keep score. The rules are very easy to understand. Do have to put on stickers for the movie thing but it ain't that hard.
I received the Guesstures game and was excited to try it. This game is recommended for ages 8+. You get 320 cards to choose from. They are at three different levels, which are - Easy, Medium and Hard. The game says 4+ players but I played the game with just two people and it worked just fine. The object of the game is to be the team who scores the most points by quickly acting out and guessing the words that are on the card. One person is the actor and your teammates try to guess what your word is. You put the cards in the timer, if they guess your word you are acting out, you quickly take the card out of the timer. If you take too long for your team to guess the word, the card will drop out of reach and you will earn no points. Easy cards are worth one point, medium are worth two points and hard are worth three points. You can choose cards from any combination you wish. This is a fun game but my complaint about it is that the timer is too quick, especially for me! The card in slot number one disappears first, then number two and so on. If you wanted to play this game with younger kids, you can just use the cards and skip the timer. It is a fun, high paced game and I would recommend it.
We had a blast playing Guesstures. I didn't know what to expect, but this is a fast-paced, exciting way to spend an evening with either family or friends. Our group consisted of ages from 11 to 65, and everyone seemed to enjoy the game. It may be a little too fast paced for the younger children. Because there is a timer, the stress level seemed to be a little too much for the youngsters, and they became a little frustrated. But the adults seemed to thrive on the quickness of the game. The most difficult part was remembering to grab the card before it slipped into the timer box. Anyone who loves charades will enjoy playing this game. The fun thing about it is that you can use gestures, and can also use more than one word to try to get your team to guess the answer. I dislike "board games", but this is much better than moving a character around a board. You actually have to "think" before giving your clues, which makes it much more challenging, and much more fun. This game causes people to become loud (and sometimes obnoxious) because you become excited about getting your team to win. It's all in fun though, and if the loudness is any indication of how much fun people are having playing this game - then this is a riot fest! The instructions are easy to grasp, and the cards and timer box are easy to set up. It's no muss and no fuss, just a lot of fun. We became very spirited and competitive playing, and look forward to teaming up again and playing another evening. I would like to know if there are additional cards for this game, once you have played all the cards that come with the game. I would recommend this game for anyone who enjoys a challenge, and everyone who likes to have fun!
We received Guesstures Game because our family likes to play games. Our youngest is 8-years-0ld and thought this might be a could way to help her increase her vocabulary, her spelling and her comprehension. The box is colorful and inviting. It made us want to open the box and start playing right away. The Guesstures Game itself includes a flimsy compartment to hold most of your cards, 4 stacks of cards with words on them, and a slate that you use during the game that is plastic and not put together well. It also includes a set of stickers that the customer has to put on to "pretty" the game slate up. The slate itself, in our game box at least, has fallen apart 3 times already. Easily put back together but easily falls apart as well. We are not sure if the game was made that way intentionally or if we have a defective game slate. The word cards range from easy to medium to hard. We thought that was nice so you could choose the cards you wanted to play with based on the age of players. The game is supposed to be for anyone age 8-years-0ld and up. Unfortunately some of the harder words our youngest did not understand or know what they were. Also, there were some "old fashion" words in the game that some of our younger friends (people in their 20's) had no idea what the item was either because they are not common place in today's society.
The concept is a fast paced charades game with a built in timer. However the timer did not work - the cards don't align correctly in box that's supposed to hold it and also act as a timer. I think just mine came defective in the box. Anyhow i can still use it to play regular charades. There are plenty of easy and difficult cards to choose from. Its a classic party game. Too bad that the timer did not work on mine. I have a 7 year old and he struggled with some of the words. So I would use it for 8/9 year olds and up. Adults will like it too. My picture shows the way the cards lined up in the timer box...you can clearly see its not all level and the last card keeps dropping off.
I just received the Guesstures Game in the mail and to be honest it is just an okay game. I had high hopes for this game but felt a little disappointed. It is basically the same as charades and you have to have at least four people to play. What you do is choose two easy cards, one medium card and one hard card to put in the plastic stand. Once you choose your cards, you choose one of the two words that are on each card to act out to your partner, push the yellow slider down and close the plastic stand. The timer starts and you have to act the word out before the card “falls” down into the plastic stand. If your partner correctly guesses the word, you grab the card from the stand and move on to the next word until your time is up or you have acted out all cards. To me, the time seems to go by pretty fast for this game. One thing I really like is when your time runs out there is NOT a really loud annoying noise at the end that scares you like most games do. Bottom line, I do not think I would buy this game.
I opened this a month after I purchased it so I think I missed the return window. I was glad the box arrived in good condition as I save game boxes for years, and I carefully attached the decals - excited to play with our grandkids when I realized the mechanism did not work. I knew how it was "supposed" to work from online videos and I had played my relative's game in another state, but mine never worked. The cards do not gradually disappear - they just fall through. I may yet ask Walmart about returning this. It was most disappointing.
