These toys are great for all ages. They would great with the tiny hands of 18 month old or older kids as well. They are very versatile for building in addition to eating :). They have a soft grip and different textures to help with the different senses for the little ones and were also used as massage tools buy the big kids. The balls are soft as well and have an incredible magnet in them. We enjoyed building large towers and also seeing how the magnets interacted with the other pieces for the older kids. These grip together well. The taller the structure got the more accurate your pieces needed to be in order not to tumble. We liked trying to build high structures. The one downside is that hair from animals or crumbs or things on the floor with stick to the pieces. They do come clean easily with a rinse under the water. Just let them air dry unless you want more lint on them.
My children love these. The library has a set of toys similar to this but there are always so many kids playing with them that my kids don't get a chance to build what they want. Now that we have a set they can! They love it! The love seeing how sometimes they don't connect because the charges of the magnets. They love building castles, houses, "weights", long lines across the room, and many other things. There are so many options with these toys. They are friendly for my baby, but my 9 year old also loves them. Wonderful! I was given this product for free in return for my review.
I was lucky to get #Grippies to try through #tryazon. These builders are awesome. My girls and their friends loved playing and building with them. They are easy to use for small hands and I didn't have to worry about anyone swallowing the blocks. The colors are bright and I loved how they were easy for my 2 year old to hold. My kids loved building and creating. The magnets are great and the creations are so easy for younger kids. I would defiantly recommend Grippies for younger and older kids!
These Grippies are a magnetic building toy by GuideCraft. I like the soft rubbery texture on all the building rods and around the balls. The rods come in two different lengths. You get Three long green rods,Three long yellow rods. Six short orange rods, six short blue rods and Twelve white spheres. For a total of thirty pieces altogether. The rods all have different designs in the texture that vary with the color of the different rods. I like that none of the pieces seem small enough for young children to choke on.(my toddler tried to ram a small rod down his throat unsuccessfully) They are very easy to build with because they are magnetic. You don't have to snap any pieces into place. The rods are attracted to each other by magnets at each end. Each sphere also houses an internal magnet making the rods attracted to the spheres as well. All pieces easily wipe off with soap and water or a damp cloth. These toys are higher quality than most toys I've come across. The material is strong yet soft and durable. This is a toy that will last for along time. The downside to this set is it comes with no carrying case or place to store the pieces. Unless you keep the original box they come in to store them. I also wish the Set came with slightly more pieces. The price is slightly more than what you would pay for a typical toddler building set. However given the higher quality of this toy I can see why. I was able to get them free from #Tryazon thanks to #GuideCraft in exchange for my honest review.
I purchased Grippies Builders for my two year old twin granddaughters, after having read reviews about it, so I want to return the favor. First, my 30 piece set from Walmart did come with a nice cylinder storage container to hold them in (apparently, some sets do not have this). Second, I think the key to making awesome structures is to use a heavy grade metal baking dish as a base. Not only do the pieces have a better foundation than a rug or table, the sides of the baking pan hold the balls from rolling all over the place. My granddaughters love building a tower bigger than they are! And at two years old, they are already experiencing (and saying) the words, "attract" and "repel!"
My boys loved these! As well as my other mommy friends & their kids! It's easy for my 19 month old to play with these w/o me having to worry about him swallowing any small pieces & choking. It's big for their tiny hands and easy to connect together. Although my 5 year said that what he tried to build doesn't stay together well with the balls so instead he just made a long sword with the long pieces haha. I wish these came with a storage box but that's not a deal breaker. I just throw them all in a ziploc bag when the kids are done playing with them. I received these in exchange for my honest & unbiased opinion. I'm so glad that I did otherwise I would of never heard of these grippies!
These toys are great for toddlers but the bigger kids had fun playing with them too. With three year old triplets here, it is great to find something they will all play with together. There are enough pieces in the set that they do not fight over them. They also enjoyed building with them together.
The rubbery texture was great for the little ones to grip and they are very easy to clean. This a really fun way to incorporate sensory learning and building for toddlers. Grippies provide hours of ever changing play for my toddlers and my older daughter. Its a toy I can see them growing with because of its endless possibilities.
After I first introduced my children to Grippies, I was unsure about them. My 4.5-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter just made a mess with them. They tossed pieces on the floor and laughed. I think my mistake was involving my son. He builds with Legos and Magnatiles, so he just saw these as big magnets. He looked for things to stick them to, and my daughter followed suit. Once that wore off, my daughter started putting them together as long sticks, or other small creations. She builds with them more when my son isn't around. I'm hoping that once he starts school in a couple days, she'll be able to explore building them more without his influence on alternative uses. We did find that there were some minor limitations that a more advanced builder would encounter, but I don't think that would inhibit a toddler much.
I got this product for free from Guidecraft through Tryazon. I was really impressed with the quality and built of pieces. My 18 month and 4 yr old instantly fell in love with this toy and it was really engaging while being creative. They would make structure and shapes in 3D . i really like the soft grip material that was so perfect for my lil one's hand. The magnet are pretty strong . my kids and their friends had fun making big structure with two pack of Grippes on their playdate. This definitely a very creative set which will keep lil children engage for good amount of time. Its a very high quality product with secure magnets. The shapes can be built in 3D , which really helps lil mind to explore different dimension with their structure. There are only two things that i did not like about this product : 1) Its priced lil high for 30 piece set, and you can't build a big structure with 30 pieces , so you at least need 3 or 4 pack of 30 pieces to make a big structure. 2) the pieces are lil heavy , so if your kids have the habit of throwing their lego blocks or balls , they might throw these grippies, and it can hurt since each piece are lil heavy for a 1 or 2 yr. the ball in the set are specifically. But overall this product is really high quality and very creative. this can definitely be a engaging set
