Guitar Hero 5 Stand Alone Software - PlayStation 2 (Game only)

its great. my son as well as my self have lots of fun with the guitar hero games. he owns all of them except for guitar hero 2.

What a great Guitar Hero! I love the new feature that allows you to queue up 6 songs for continuous play! The songs are a bit harder than previous versions, incorporating more note combinations. The only downside is that you are limited to 3 characters when entering your name with your stats. All in all, 5 stars!

I'm surprised and disappointed some folks had compatibility issues - my PS2 is a couple of years old and I had no problems. Also, it's a bit easier than previous versions but still fun. See video review for screen shots etc and 10 other pros / cons in 90 seconds.

Unlike the prior two reviews, I have had no problems with my PS2 reading the disc. My PS2 was purchased the day that they came out, so I am lead to believe that age of the PS2 is not an issue. Game play is good, but the song list lacks a lot to be desired in my opinion. Party mode is great. No more fighting over who plays lead guitar, because two poeple can at once. Works with rock band and world tour instuments.

I purchased this game as a birthday gift to myself a few months ago. There are alot more options for creating avatars as well as new multiplayer options. I was a little disappointed at the load time for this game. The song selection was not overly impressive in comparison to earlier versions. My son and his friends all enjoy the game as well. Again the only complaints have been song selection and load time.

I bought hero 5 and the disc could not be read. I exchanged 2 more times for a total of 3 dics that the playstation 2 could not read. Nothing is wrong with my game console and hero 5 is a DVD ROM and won't work in my computer either. I was really looking forward to playing this game.

We went through the same thing as the prior review...exchanged out for a couple diff discs. Called the PS2 helpline and they are stating that this is a "dual layer disc" and if you have an older PS2 (ours is 2 years old) you will probably have issues getting this to play... wish I would have known that sooner... so if you have what they consider an older PS2 this is probably not the game for you.
