My son read about cloudberries somewhere and really wanted to try them. I was so glad to find them on igourmet. The cloudberry preserves are delicious and different from anything in our local grocery store.
I'd looked for cloudberries for several years. So glad I finally found them here. These preserves have wonderful flavor.
We haven't opened the preserves yet, but have had the wild cloudberries before and they are very tasty.
Love it. Need to order more!
Gentle, refreshing, just a bit spicy, like no other.
Cloudberry preserves were just as described. Wonderful with breakfast at r a mid-day snack!
No special occasion or champagne required. I keep on hand and use with Vernon's Ginger Ale. There are 11 young flowers in each jar and it is filled with enough syrup for two teaspoonns per drink. Place a single flower in a glass, add a bubbly drink (very cold), then add two teaspoons of the syrup. Let sit for at least fifteen minutes for the syrup to settle and the flavors to mix. Drink the ale, champagne - whatever. Then drink the syrup. Then eat the flower. The drink will have the subtle qualities of the flower and the syrup. The syrup will now have the added flavor of the drink. The flower has his marvelous texture and will also taste of the drink in which it has been cold-steeped. These flowers are young and should be placed in the mouth whole, savoured and chewed slowly to release all of the flavours and pleasant aromas. Quite a sensation. there is a temptation to eat them out of the jar like Marashino cherries, but that would be rather expensive and missing all the added flavor. Why only 4 stars? The jar could be bigger, the flowers a little larger?. The flavor slightly more sassier. I never give anything 5 stars - there is always room for improvement.
I ordered cloudberries for Christmas. when my package arrived it contained a jar of lingonberry instead. very upset because now it is too late to fix as it is now 4 days from Christmas.
