Haier 20 Pint Dehumidifier for 1500 Sq Ft, White - Smart Technology

After one week it works well, which is what I need. I hope it continues this way. Ask for another review in six months.

This Haier QDHR20LZ 20-Pint dehumidifier is the one to get. Very simple. Plug it in, set it to auto, and wait for it to beep to tell you to empty the water out. This is my first time living in a really humid state and boy, does the dehumidifier make a difference! It takes away that sticky feeling you have from sitting in a humid environment. I have this model in my living room and it brings down the indoor humidity to 50% in the ENTIRE one story, 1600sq/ft, 3/2 house. I empty the water in the tank about 3x/day. It's not that loud. You don't notice it when you're watching tv. Quieter than a dishwasher, a little louder than your older fridge. Pay the extra and get the dehumidifier that actually works.

I bought this item in another store, then I found out that Walmart had for over $100 less. Immediately I ordered on the Internet and returned the one I bought to the store I got it. I really appreciate saving more than $100. I am retired with a fixed income... Thank you so much.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am using this dehumidifier, which is designed to cover 400-1,000 square feet, in a 900 square foot basement. The musty smell I had previously observed in the basement is now gone. While this dehumidifier is by no means quiet, it is quieter than another dehumidifier I had used in a different property. I have this one positioned such that there is a counter between the dehumidifier and the area in which I watch TV, and I'm amazed at how well the counter blocks the noise.

I needed a second dehumidifier to help with moisture in my basement. I already have a 50 pint Haier that works great in another room, so my choice was another Haier as a helper. I got this 20 pt capacity. It works great and helps maintain a stable humidity level in my basement. And, since I have it in an area where there isn't a drain, it is easy to empty, not too heavy when full

Easy to setup and use. I like that you can use a standard garden hose to connect and drain the water. I have it setup in my basement draining into my sump pump

Very small reservoir, but good for a small room or hallway. A bit noisy. Construction is solid, well made, can easily remove the reservoir for emptying.

This is a great unit. It's fast and effective. I purchased the unit to ease the stress of high humidity on the air conditioner. I live in the mountains of southern WV., in summer it's like a rain forest.

Small and weak Hose attachment nonstandard

This Haier model is my third prior to having been GE branded and it doesn't seem to dissipate humidity in the way those did, even though it seems to run all the time.
