Haier 8,000 Btu Portable Air Conditioner, QPCD08AXLW

This a/c unit met every expectation we hoped for. We experienced a record breaking heat wave in July here on Cape Cod and this air conditioned kept our 22'x22' bedroom cool and dry day and night and is very quiet running compared to other a/c units we have purchased in the past.

It cools off the area, not super cold but the area went from 88 to 72 and that's at least livable compared. A bit noisey but it's in the kitchen so not like that's a big problem. So far so good.

So far no problems. It is a bit noisy. I will disregard it. My other AC from LG, I spent too much time adjusting temperatures buttons. This new machine cooled off my room right out the box. Price not bad either. Love the service contract option.

I love the convenient size (compact) for my room. Doesn't take up a lot of space & it works really well covering my whole room. It's a lot smaller than my son-in-laws, but his doesn't even cover as much as this one nor keeps the room cool as much as this one did when it was really hot out. I also love the remote control which is big plus & the movement of the vents that can be moved 4 different ways. The "only" reason I gave it a 9 overall was because I would have liked it to be a little more quieter.

Brought during hot summer for basement, had relatives coming and needed to cool basement. Did a good job cooling but added humidity to basement. Couldn't find a way to set up the drain system..

There needs to be a hose for draining water.

Just a note of caution. If you live in an older home like my own, this unit likely will not work. It requires a 3-prong outlet, and will NOT work with an adapter or an extension cord. I wish the description had warned about this. Also the unit's cord is quite short, so it needs to be placed close to an outlet and window.

We should have listened to the reviews. This air conditioner is noisy. We bought it for our bedroom and it didn't work for us. If you're purchasing this for a room other than a bedroom it should be fine. It really does cool the room. We had no problems with that. We are returning our unit.

bought in April of 2020 cooled 8×8 storage building I made into doghouse well during the hot summer set on lowest setting, went to run it today 3/2021 and it isn't cooling at all. Was stored in the same( heated) building it was set up in. Would not recommend

Cooled very well but had to empty water ever 20 minutes. What a pain! Returned it, hard to pack it back in the box since it was so heavy. Walmart refunded no problem. Spend a little more and get an air conditioner with auto evaporation - no water to dump!
