All components are well thought out and went together well. I purchased this brand and model because researched named this unit the quietest of all. They WEREN'T KIDDING !! In Quiet mode the compressor 'soft starts' quietly. Additionally, this is a 6000 Btu unit for it's size, not 5000. Worth the cost for a great nights' rest.

I bought this a month ago and it's obvious that the fan setting is quieter than others on the market there is an unfortunate other noise—like water gurgling and dripping inside the machine. It's better than the loud ac I had before, but very disappointing as this unit was $200 more expensive than my others.
