Quiet and energy efficient

Drewpizza February 28, 2018

When it first starts up it is a little noisy but after about 5 min run time you can’t even hear it. Very impressed by the cooling. Strongly recommend. Thinking of buying a second one as a spare.

Great Features

LIZBELL August 3, 2025

I like the fact that the AC has so many features related to air flow, noise, sleep setting and fan sped.

Quiet and efficient

sdudelston August 9, 2020

I love that this air conditioner has an energy saver mode, that's what I keep it on most of the time. This air conditioner is the quietest I've heard, you can literally barely hear it. It was well worth the money because I can't stand the sound of an ac. It's perfect for a two-three rooms but not the whole house, luckily they have a bigger one you can purchase if need be.

IT'S TRUE - ULTRA QUIET!

CTSunny August 15, 2018

We love our new GE Ultra Quiet Window Air Conditioner (6150 BTU). I regret suffering and waiting so long to purchase this unit for our bedroom! The remote with display window is a nice added feature -- wish you could see the temperature numbers at night but not a problem. The advertised image does it no justice -- this model is attractive and sleek. Reasonably priced, easy installation (not too heavy), energy saver - yet cools very well and ultra quiet! Don't hesitate to purchase this unit.

Quiet, but compromise power

rly1 September 30, 2019

I bought this AC unit for my bedroom and while it lives up to its "ultra quiet" description, you compromise the ability to cool a room quickly (my bedroom is only about 150 sq ft). The timer and other cooling setting features are nice to have though.

Quiet air

Elmo already used October 1, 2019

I really love that it is very quiet, as advertised, but louvers can just be directed mostly upwards and not horizontally. I guess it is for lower windows, also, in the e-save and auto mode, fan doesn’t stop at all, fan keeps on blowing until compressor kicks in again. I would have rated this 5 or more stars.

I purchased the 8000 BTU version, I was duped by the serenity series quiet moniker, it turned out to be the most obnoxious sounding unit I ever had, first of all for some reason newer units have no drain holes in the case causing water to collect which is picked up by the fan and if used in a bedroom will cause many a sleepless night unless you are handy with power tools specifically a drill, it doesn't need to be a very powerful one because the case is very thin sheet metal, you will need at least a 1/4 inch drill bit I recommend a new one now here's the tricky part, you need to drill at least two holes in two locations, depending on the location of the unit you will need to be able to see the part of it that goes on the outside, you will need to run the unit until water collects under where the fan is then you need to drill a hole on the bottom making sure you don't hit the condenser thereby allowing water to drain and eliminating the water splashing sound, in my unit I had to drill two separate holes because the water was collecting in two places inside the case, if you can't access the back of it because it's in a second floor before installing it take it outside and either run so water collects in it or use a garden hose to spray water in the back then run the fan. I will say that it cools well but it's only quiet on the lowest speed but on high or medium it's noisy.
