Of all of the hamburger helper this is the one I just love the taste of. With everything else I have to do in a day, with taking care of my folks and there place, this is one thing I treat myself with since I don't get to go or do much else. Dad likes it too, but it has a little more sodium than he needs so I prepare him something different. That way I can eat on this for rest of week myself just add cheese , sour cream, onions etc.if I want to change it up any. Sometimes I use chicken instead of hamburger. Try it you will like it.
When Hamburger Helper originally came out with these products, they also had one that was almost identical to this one but included peas and carrots. It was our favorite. For years, I have kept an eye out for it but obviously they stopped making it. We don't care for the other Hamburger Helper varieties, only this one. I find adding one small package of the mixture of frozen peas with carrots, is best. It is not only more flavorful, makes more, but more nutritious. IF I don't have a frozen packet on hand, I do add a can of peas and a can of carrots BUT if you add an entire can of slice carrots, it does some what overwhelm the flavor. If you add can veggies, be sure to drain the cans first. If you use can peas, wait until the Hamburger Helper is almost finished cooking before adding the can peas (that will prevent the peas from mushing). I some times add a little onion also. This product also taste just as good with instant powdered milk.
My all-time favorite hamburger helper which is usually very difficult to find in the stores. I was so happy to find it here! I like to add a can of corn cuz it goes along perfectly! it's a great price too cuz this type usually is a little more expensive than the regular stroganoff and often not on sale.
this is the best hamburger helper out of all of them I i guess that's why there is plenty of the other ones just not enough of these on the shelf
I love hamburger helper, but this has got to be my favorite one. It is so delicious, and easy to make. My whooe family loves it.
Surprising tastes good coming from a box.
this has always been my favorite hamburger helper along with the cheesy hash brown hamburger helper, those are the only two hamburger helpers that I will buy but what happened to this one, why are the potatoes loose in the box and not in a bag any longer? and why is it taking me an extra half an hour just to get the potatoes soft? I still like it but I don't like the unsanitary condition of putting the potatoes loose in the box and I don't know what you guys did to the potatoes and why they take so much longer to cook, please go back to the way it used to be.. and it use to be more flavorful so I don't know what's up with that either... why do all these companies have to ruin a good thing, don't you know the expression? " you don't need to fix what isn't broke"
I've been buying this for decades, and I've always loved the flavor, but my potatoes are still crunchy after following the package directions. They used to come in a plastic bag. Now they are loose in the box and the seasoning is slightly different, but still pretty good. I tried using another pan after my potatoes didn't get done, with the same results. This is unacceptable. Please go back to the original recipe and packaging!
I tried this and liked it except the potatoes were crunchy, tonight I am trying leaving it on simmer longer than 23 minutes, to see how long it actually takes for the potatoes to get tender. UPDATE: It took a total of 60 minutes to get the potatoes tender enough with zero crunch.
This shows that it was in my delivery but when I unloaded the non perishable items just now it is not there
