Hamilton Beach 10 Qt Slow Cooker, Stoneware Crock with Removable Pot, Black

I have used this twice so far. Made bone - in chicken thighs and an 8 lb turkey breast, so it's plenty big. Both came out excellent, moist and tasty. The lid does not fit tight, however, and it did not come with lid-locks . I covered the lid with foil and a kitchen towel to insure even cooking . I was pleased with the results.

It arrived in a box that looked untouched, which means the factory approved sale of a damaged bowl. It's like a second, all scratched up on outside, even has scratch and missing top coat in spots on inside, so I don't want to cook food in it. There was also a heavy film of grease (or ?) that scrubbing with dawn wouldn't completely remove and could it get into the food. Reminded me of greasy treatment stuff a "fire smell removal" cleanup place used when they had my stuff after a fire. Very odd to me. Was it returned, cleaned, and repacked as new by HB? Anyway, the size is excellent. I wish I could have used it for Thanksgiving. I guess that's what I get for opening it at the last minute.

Overall I like it because of the large size, and I will use it I infrequently when I need a large slow cooker. I wish I bought one with the top that had locks. Also, I am using it for the first time tonight and it has a burning plastic smell. I am hoping it's because it's new.

I received this today and it's not even the correct model that I ordered, it's not black and has no locking lid. The one I ordered was suppose to be black with a locking lid and model 33191. Instead they sent me model 33191G, it's gray and no locking lid. Very disappointed! I'll be returning this and going elsewhere to buy a crock pot.

The Product (they sent) was fine, The Problem is they DID NOT SEND what I ordered, then when Contacted, DID NOT respond to my inquiry - basically stranding me without a proper product for use! CUSTOMER SERVICE was/is VERY POOR! If I could give them a ZERO STAR I would! I love how big it is and was super excited to use it until today! I was making meatballs on high for One hour and then low for three hours stirring in between. I went to take the top off and stir them, I Set the top on my counter and it exploded! I mean glass EVERWHERE! I can't even eat the meatballs because they're shards of glass in the Crockpot and all over the floor and my counters everywhere! Scared the living crap out of me. So disappointed!! First time using it and now I have no top so I can't use it again.

While receiving my order incredibly fast, I did not get the right one. Infact, what I recieved wasn't even a purchase option. I got a standard stainless steel 10 quart. Not the lid lock black 10 quart. Hopefully I will get the right one after returning this one.

This item was poorly manufactured. The outer casing was not attached completely and did not seem safe to use. My store did not have any available for pickup, so I could not look at it in store and make a decision. After days of waiting for the arrival I am extremely disappointed in the Hamilton Beach brand.
