Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Electric Deep Fryer with Basket, Freidora de Aceite, Stainless Steel

The unit is as described. one feature that I didn't see discussed was that there are two fill lines in the reservoir one for capacity and another for approx. 2/3 capacity. Initially I was considering 8 cup unit. Im glad I got the larger unit. Unit functions as expected, some dishwasher safe parts for easy cleanup. I've used it twice in two weeks. So far so good.

This is great and works well. I have used it only only 4 days ago. The grease gets good and hot quickly. The fish I cooked was delicious. So far it's working good.

It does take quite a while to heat up but considering the amount of oil it can hold that makes sense. It has a light to let you know when it's ready and up to temperature. It cooks quickly and everything comes out crispy and delicious. I have made homemade fried chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks, hushpuppies and fries. I love the lid. Every other deep fryer I have owned did not have a lid so grease would splash all over. The lid for this one prevents that making it much cleaner to cook with. Everything comes apart very easily to clean. I am so pleased with this deep fryer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Hamilton Beach 12 Cup Deep Fryer makes frying at home easy to do. As this is a uni-tasker, I would only recommend it for someone who is planning on doing a lot of at-home frying -- it has a good capacity and is easy to use and to take apart afterwards to clean. The cons are a short cord (you either need an extension or you're limited to the space you are frying in) and the minimum amount of oil needed is about a quart -- which is a lot. If you break out the fryer it's best if you're trying a lot of stuff and not just a small batch. In terms of clean up, it's easy to take apart, but you are cleaning parts that have been sitting in oil, so that's a bit of a pain. The basket can be placed in the dishwasher, but the heating element needs to be cleaned by hand. Overall, it's easy to use and nice if you plan to do a lot of frying.

It had good instructions and easy to setup and use. It did take a long time to heat up. It is easy to break down and clean; the basket and handle is sturdy. I like how easy it is assemble, disassemble, and clean.

When the oil is hot enough it has a light to let you know it is ready. I like that it's easy to clean and it has a nice sized basket, but I do wish the metal was a bit thicker. The plug is magnetic, there is a light that lets you know it's plugged in correctly, but be careful because if you bump it, it comes unplugged easily.
