This coffee maker is considered middle of the road I'm sure but it is so easy to use and makes a great pot of coffee. I have used a Cuisinart for years. This Hamilton Beach coffee maker has a program button, and time button and an on/off button, programmable, turns off in two hours. The basics I wanted and simple to use at a great price!

Only been using this a week but so far am amazed at how well it's designed and the features it gives for the low price point. This coffee pot will replace one that's spout drips with every pour and can only keep coffee at room temp. This maker does not have those problems and is designed for easy addition of coffee and water as a machine should be! The reservoir view on the side makes it easy to add filtered water straight to the machine without first measuring in the carafe. Both the water and the coffee load at the front of the machine, with a swing out basket holding the filter. The “Bold” setting is great as you can use less coffee and still get a nice strong pot. It works by pumping water into the basket at intervals so it has more “steep” time in the basket, AWESOME! This adds about 2 minutes to the very fast brew time but that is to be expected due to it pausing between brews. A 12 cup pot takes 4 minutes to make on the non bold setting. The programmable timer is easy to configure and worked first time. We love the LED clock as it faces directly front and is easy to see from anywhere in the kitchen. The maker looks smart with brushed aluminum against black. It pauses automatically if you want a quick cup and the carafe pours smoothly! The “cleaning” reminder will alert you to run some vinegar/water or store bought coffee make cleaner through after so many pots. All in all I love this maker so far and figure the “Bold” setting is saving me $ on coffee!!!

5 REASONS TO OWN THIS COFFEE POT OVER OTHERS  1. No mess pouring, filling this coffee maker allows you to pour in the front and it's not messy, no splashing, no water running behind your coffee pot, it's faster and easier to fill from the front, and not one drop of spilled water with the system they have setup here. It has a very wide mouth in the front and will accept pretty much any normal pouring without any mess at all from overflow etc. 2. The glass container itself has a little addition on the top that allows you to pour fast, no dribbling down the front of the container with water leaking all over the place. This to me is one of the nicest features I've seen to date on the container itself, it's simple but very effective. Four pots of coffee and I've not seen a drop of water or coffee anywhere other than in my cup or the pot itself.  3. The top of the coffee maker has a double lid, the front lid is for pouring in water for your pot of coffee, the rear lid is for the same and for cleaning etc. The lids are very handy and the filters for the coffee load from the front as well. 4. One thing about this coffee maker you might like if you are single or the only coffee drinker in your home is it has a 4 cup setting, just to make 4 cups! I thought this was great for mornings when you are in a hurry to get on the road etc. or are just a casual 2-3 cup drinker in the mornings.  You have the options of making strong coffee or normal coffee as well with the push of a button. 5. It programs to turn on and brew any time of day or night, but what I liked about this coffee maker is that it has a 2 hour safety shutoff. The last coffee maker I had was a 1 hour shutoff and I'm a slower drinker and kind of spread it out over the morning, I was constantly resetting my coffee maker to keep my coffee hot. I believe the 2 hour safety shut off is much better.  Overall, this coffee maker is a slam dunk! I have been missing out on the front pour all these years. I won't be going back to the rear fill coffee pots, they are just messy and bad. The front pour is so much cleaner and easier to use!

First of all, my husband and I drink coffee morning, noon, and night. We've had our share of coffee makers and this one is, by far, the best we've owned. It definitely has several features that make coffee life easier. My favorite feature is the swivel filter basket holder. With typical coffee makers, the brew basket sits in the top and has an unstable feeling. This leaves you unsure if you've put the basket in correctly. The swivel door feature of the Hamilton Beach coffee maker eliminates the doubt of the brew basket being snug in place. The brew basket door swivels open. Presto! Easy to pop it out to clean and snaps securely back in place. The next best feature is the "Brew Options" button. This button allows you to control the strength of the coffee you brew. Yay! Okay. I guess that's my favorite. Then, there's the "Clean Notification". Once the coffee pot is in need of a good cleaning, the word "CLEAN" will appear on the display screen. We have already cleaned the coffee maker and it was extremely simple. It has a trendy, "coffee house" design and is a tad bigger than a standard coffee maker. Still, definitely the best coffee pot we've owned. It makes great coffee and provides ease of maintenance. Two thumbs up, for sure!

I have always enjoyed this brand of coffee makers. They are not expensive and the coffee comes out as good as from expensive ones. What I really love about this particular coffee maker is the easiest way ever to pour water and coffee in it - it has the front load for both!! No more trying to reach the back with water spilling all over. It is sooo convenient!! All the buttons are on the top as well which is better to reach and not to spill coffee on. It is a 12 cup coffee maker, and it has automatic pause and serve which is a great thing when you need to pour coffee while its brewing. There is a programmable clock with 2 hour automatic shut off. The coffee maker also has a cleaning cycle reminder which is always great, because I never remember when I last cleaned it. The sleek black and silver look fits in any kitchen. It is a little bigger than my previous coffee maker, but it's is explainable since my last one was only for 4 cups. Overall it is a great inexpensive coffee maker for everyday use, I would definitely recommend.

Love our new coffee pot. Very easy to change programming times and strength of coffee brew. When our 19 year old son started drinking coffee every day we decided the Keurig pods were no longer cost efficient. This was an inexpensive coffee pot that brews a good pot of coffee every morning without a lot of hassle!

This is one very nice coffee maker. We have owned several different name brands and styles over the last few years. They work well but don't seem to last. This one, we will have to see about longevity. We do like very much, the easiness of use. The clock is very simple and easy to set. The timer, so that you may have a fresh brew ready when you arise in the AM or PM, or for whatever time one needs, is so very simple to set as well. We have seen and used other models and brands that were less expensive and some that were much more expensive, and this compares equal and in most cases, better. The digital display is bright and easy to read. We like the filter basket very much. Is so easy to refill for the next pot of brew, and is easy to change and clean. We also like the concept of the swing away basket for the filter and coffee. At first we didn't like the water fill window being on the left side instead of the right as we were used to, but is still easy to fill. There is a smaller fill lid on the front of the top in which if you are looking at the left side of the unit, you can see the water fill line, but you also can lift the main lid and fill there as well, so this is what we do. As stated, this is not a major drawback for us. The unit does make a fast pot of brew, and is so very tasty. It maintains the flavor without keeping the brew over heated and making it too strong to drink after several hours. It does have a safety feature of turning off after two hours. All one has to do is turn off and then back on and another two hours heating sequence starts over. All in all, I or we, feel that this is a great purchase to be made for someone that needs a great coffee brewer. Hope this review helps someone in making a purchase decision. Don't feel you will regret it at all.

I got this Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker to replace a coffee maker/cappuccino machine that we never used the cappuccino function on. My old machine was very wide and took up a ton of room on my counter and I love the fact that this one is much slimmer. However, what it lacks in width it sure makes up in height. I was really hoping to use one of those pull out bases underneath this coffee maker to make it easier to pull out from underneath my kitchen cupboard, but the machine is much too tall for anything underneath it, with very little gap between it and the bottom of the cupboard. I love the fact that this machine makes so little steam when brewing! My old one made a ton of steam and I always worried about my cupboards getting water damage and/or warping, but this machine gives me no cause to worry about that anymore. I have noticed however, that you have to fill the water past the 12 cup mark in order for it to actually brew a full 12 cups. I am not sure if that is because of steam off, or possibly because of water being left at the bottom of the reservoir. No big deal though, really doesn't effect anything, and I simply add a bit more water when I am brewing. Also, it has an "optional" water filter, which I am guessing it did not come with, and you have to buy separately. It could have been in the box and I just mistakenly overlooked it, however I do not think so. I wish that it came with the product, but you do get a phone number and website to buy it from if you wish to. The coffee carafe and the filter holder are dishwasher safe, which is nice if you want to give it a good thorough cleaning once a week or so, but wouldn't be an every day thing. It has a programmable option which I have not used, and even an 2 hour auto-shut off in case you leave the house and forget to turn it off. No worries! It will turn itself off! The best feature I think is the "BOLD" option it gives you when brewing. This option takes a bit longer to brew but gives a nice bolder taste to my coffee that I especially enjoy when using it for iced coffee. Overall I really enjoy this machine and look forward to using it for a long time to come.

I am a Walmart Spark Reviewer and recently received the new Hamilton Beach 12-Cup Programmable Coffee Maker as part of the program. My first thought was that it wasn't as sleek or modern looking as our current Faberware coffee maker that we currently own which was purchased a couple years ago in the same $40 price range. This machine uses disposable coffee filters, which I would rather have the reusable, washable basket. The machine itself stands approximately 14” tall, 10.5” long and 7” wide. Although I prefer my current maker, this one does look quite nice in our ‘modern stainless steel' kitchen. This coffee maker will make up to 12 cups and is programmable, with an LED clock. The programming feature was easy to use. There is also a BOLD setting which is nice and saves a little on the coffee costs! One option that I do like over my current coffee maker is the no drip option. My current coffee maker says it is no drip, but it's not. It is actually the opposite… leaks like a siv! This Hamilton Beach maker also claims to be no drip and so far seems to hold true to it's claim. Overall, for the price, I would say this is a good coffee maker. Just wish it came with the washable/reusable filter.

This is a nice coffee maker that is convenient and easy to use. The sleek black plastic with silver details should work with most kitchen decor. It has three settings: Single serving, regular brew, and a slower brew for stronger coffee. It's easy to figure out and the controls and program it. It features an alarm setting to make coffee at a certain time. It also has an automatic shut-off after two hours, which is a really nice feature. Who hasn't forgotten to turn off the coffee pot? The feature my family likes best is that it's front-loading. This means it can be kept most of the way underneath a cupboard without blocking access to using the coffee maker, or requiring it take up lots of counter space. (Please see photos.) You can access the water reservoir from the back of the machine as well, should you need to. The carafe has an excellent pour spout that doesn't leak or drip as you are pouring the coffee. The handle is comfortable. The carafe is easy to read and to see coffee levels. The only negative is that you have to be very careful not to be too messy when loading coffee grounds into the machine. If even a tiny bit gets on the edge of the compartment, it won't close completely, and the machine will not function properly.
