Easy to use, large enough for a full-sized dinner plate, works perfectly. I'm very pleased. Takes about the same amount of time to heat coffee, defrost meat, pop popcorn, and etc. that our big under-counter (expensive) microwave. I would recommend. I've only had it for a few weeks: in that time, it has worked flawlessly, if it lasts, it will be a true bargain purchase.
I bought this for my office at work so I am not COOKING in it but rather heating stuff up, making popcorn, and brewing tea in the afternoon. It heats quickly and has plenty of room for a full plate of food. There is a turntable, a clock, a timer and express buttons...really everything you could want. I could not find anything lower priced with the room and wattage of this microwave.
Wasn't sure about this microwave at first with some negative reviews I read. After having used this awhile I love it. It cooks everything completely. You do have to stir half way through if thick food item your reheating. The size is perfect & holds a large casserole dish. The light comes on when you open the door unlike the Panasonic I looked at. My 2 big gripes is the noise it makes from the turning plate. Can't figure out why it make such a racket. The other is figuring out how to push button for minutes only like a 3 minute time for a cup of water. You have to push the set button for a drink then hit it again when it's done cause it only heats for 2 mins which isn't hot enough for me. The instructions were confusing in that area but I'm still fiddling with it in hopes I can figure it out on my own. I love the fact that the top inside wall doesn't have any exposed heating element like the Emerson I had before cause food would get splattered on it & start to spark. I'm hoping this lasts longer than 5 yrs like the Emerson cause I hate replacing thing every few years.
This microwave is a great value. I have paid more for microwaves that aren't any better than this one. The commands are easy to understand. It works like it should and who could ask for more. The shipping was free and it was delivered to my door. Really happy with the purchase.
The microwave was purchased as a gift for my mother. She absolutely loves it....easy of use....rotating platform......fits nicely on the countertop.....she also thought that it cost hundreds of dollars! It's an excellent value.
This is a very nice microwave and rates up there with the more expensive ones. We got it for a Mother's Day gift and she loved it. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.
Received as if I had carried it out of the store myself. I was surprised at how Quiet and at the power, heated a mug of the mornings left over coffee which I usually save for iced coffee, to a point that it was too hot to drink in 40 seconds. Reheated previously grilled foods rather quickly. I put one of those small turkey-pot pies in and heated to perfection. By the way; If you read the back of one of those boxes they say to heat in conventional oven if your microwave is not at least 1100watts, this one is only 1000w. Like I said before, this machine operates Quietly. This evening I put a bag of steam-in-the-bag vegetables and walked away after about20 seconds I heard some bumping and thumping. Knowing my neighbors were away I returned to the kitchen and looked into the microvave and the carousel was turning in fits-and-starts and making odd noises. I lifted everything out and made sure every thing went back in ok and was lined up, I then restarted and it was doing the same thing. I will look at it closer in the next day or two and figure out a plan of action. It is possible it has a flat spot on one of the wheels. I would say go for it. I did buy the extended warranty for $4.00 just in case. However if there is a problem with the rotor motor it is still under manufacturors guarantee against defective parts or material and workmanship.
It was simple to set up, but very difficult for one person to remove from the package. I see a weird thing inside this microwave. There is tape on it, but I am not bothering it. According to the instructions, it is to remain in the microwave. I have never had one that had only a microboard to plug up this hole. Iam a concerned about it. I have opened the microwave and am using it. the back of my brain is saying the thin microboard doesn't have the ability to filter any type of wave.
It was bigger than I anticipated, but I had a larger one, and I think when I was looking for this one, I just pictured a bigger size drop. No worries, I am able to adjust, this was not the fault of the product, just my image. I read several reviews on this prior to purchase and went with it anyway. Hamilton Beach has mostly been pretty good to me as a brand on whole (notwithstanding the whole broken coffee maker debacle, but as they cleaned it up without issue, I digress) so I went with my gut on this purchase and gave it a try. As I normally do with any purchase, I read my instruction pamphlet from cover to cover BEFORE I used the product. Interesting how I giggled at a few of the remembered complaints of previous reviewers as I read how to fix issues the had (i.e. popcorn button time can actually be reset based on size of bag you normally pop in your microwave). Once again, I digress. Once I had read my pamphlet and had my children read it, we began using it. I see no problems with it thus far. My oldest is having a few issues changing to defrosting by weight or minutes versus the old microwave having a specific meat type button and not worrying any further, but beyond that, the only worry is my kids slamming the door or pushing the button too hard and breaking it before it wears out naturally on us due tohow light weight it is (the only reason it was docked a star)... If I run into any REAL problems with it in the meantime, I will be back to change the review.
This is a nice size for one or two people but don't plan to use for large groups. Not too heavy and fits in small area. But the "timer" function only beeps once and if you don't happen to be standing next to it you can miss it! I use my timer when cooking on stove so a couple of times things cooked too long. My previous microwave had a timer that beeped until it was turned off. This one-beep timer isn't helpful.
