I received the HAMILTON Beach slow cooker yesterday and cooked a chuck roast, potatoes, carrots, and onion in it this morning. The slow cooker worked fabulously, and our meal was deliciously cooked just as the website stated. I love that it is programmable...just set it and forget it! After searing the roast. I set the temp on high heat for about 2 hours, then cut the heat down to low for another 5 hours. The roadt was soooo tender. I'm sure I will be cooking a lot if meals in this slow cooker. I would highly recommend this product.
This is one of several different slow cookers from Hamilton Beach. It is not the cheapest, but it has programmable settings which I wanted It is still a very good value for the price. It came well packaged, and is easy to set up. The larger oval size accommodates larger roasts or other things. The lid fits securely and is easy to clean. The crock insert is heavy and well made, and the surface is easy to clean. The day it came I used it for a large chuck roast with potatoes, carrots and onions. It has settings for warm, low, and high, and settings for the hours - 2,4,6,8,10. I set it for 4 hours on high When it was done it automatically set to the warm setting. The roast and veggies came out perfect. I was very pleased with this slow cooker. I usually use a pressure cooker, but this is a better option sometimes. I would recommend it.
Looks good, works good. The lid is not locked, like most crock pots, but it doesn't seem to affect it at all. The oval shape is much better than the round ones I have had in the past.
I love it! You can set it on high or low for how much time you want. After the time is up it automatically goes to warm! Perfect! No overcooked or cold food if you are delayed.
I JUST LOVE THIS CROCK POT. I AM OVER 83 YRS OF AGE. I DID NOT KNOW COOKING COULD BE SO EASY. JUST FILL THE POT.............NO STIRRING...NO WATCHING IT DOES NOT BOIL OVER. LIKE THEY SAY"JUST SET IT AND FORGET IT!! " W O W !
I bought this to cook in the summertime without having to use the stove or oven. Just broke it in turning 5 lbs of Chuck Roast into Beef Machaca. Turned out great, with over a weeks worth of leftovers to boot. Performed to expectations, next I think will be slow cooker Meatballs.
I purchased this particular slow cooker for its programmable feature and its size. I only feed two adults in my household, so I was looking for a smaller size cooker, as opposed to the popular eight-quart model. It still seems large for just two people, but I'm still experimenting with the amount of food. The programmable feature worked well the first use. I would recommend this product. I have only used it once, but I am satisfied with the product.
We like the fact that you can set tempture an amount of time. It isn't as heavy as our other cooker, so that is better for me and my ability to use it. Easy to clean. i have noticed a little discolor in the bottom of pot from cleaning. But it works well.
had one of these about 5 yrs ago but have moved and lost most things. so, i liked this crockpot and ordered it again. clearly lighter, thinner and more cheaply made. lid not even close to fitting. will return and go with a different brand and model. disappointed.
This looked like it would be an amazing replacement for an older larger crockpot. I ordered it online and that may have been the problem. When item was received, the base (with all the electronic buttons on it) made noise like pieces were loose inside as if something was broken. I had to return it before even trying. I will be looking for one maybe in store.
