I was replacing my old crockpot because it cooked to hot. This has been much better! i like that I can set it on the stove to brown a roast or sautee veggies in there before starting it.

my previous slow cooker like this, same brand, was better but an older model perished in house fire. i wish they never changed it. lid does not lock like my other one, and on high does not come to a boil like my other one. i use to be able to sear my meat in pot, put on slow cooker base on low, than change it to high to boil and add my dumplings directly in. now i have to take off base and put back on stove. which is fine, but i stil miss the locking lid

I've never used a slow cooker before so I was excited to try it out for the first time. I really like the size capacity because it is able to fit an entire chicken! It's incredibly lightweight but feels sturdy enough so I hope it lasts a long time. The temperature and time settings a minimal but easy and intuitive to follow and use. Another great thing is the inner pot can be used on the stove to brown meat before being set to slow cook which is nice because I like to brown beef before cooking it to get some color. My beef stew cooked to perfection and was soft and tender. A couple of points of improvement: I wish there was a medium heat setting just to have an option between low and high heat option. Also, the outer pot could be insulated so you don't run the risk of accidentally burning your hand if it touches the pot. Other than that it's a great entry into the world of slow cooking. This crockpot had a unique feature where you can take the insert it then place it on your stove top to sear your meat! This is an awesome feature, the easy to clean pan insert is awesome no more scrubbing. It's light weight, feels cheap made compared to my 20 year old crockpot that still works great also. I like how it is programed. So, you don't have to think of the time. I made a great recipe Hawaiian Chicken. I had a crockpot for 25 years, I'm sure this one will last as long!

Light weight! Replaced one that was over 40 yrs old! Have not used the searing on stove top yet but looking forward to it! 🤗
