I have used / owned brands like Kitchenaid and Cuisinart the Hamilton Beach I'm so Glad I gave this Brand chance. In the past I thought of this brand as cheap and low quality. I have changed my mind. Push buttons would have beueun nice but probably would have raised the price..It chops slices and shreds in secons. I was worried I would have trouble with cheese put it in the freezer for 20 to 30 min. And it shreds like a whiz. The base is stable when in use.the suction cups actually work the 1 year warranty is great. .
This is a great appliance! It is very powerful and will chop or shred anything I put into it. It has no cracks or crevices for food to get stuck in, so it is very easy and fast to clean. The price is fantastic. The only drawback that I can see to it, is the food chute is small, you have to cut potatoes and onions to get them to fit threw. I am very happy with it.
Easy to use. Large enough bowl to make salsa quickly. I put the onions and peppers in first and the tomatoes on top, then pulse chop for perfect chunky salsa. This is my first food processor and I love it! Can't wait to try shredding some cheese and slicing potatoes or cucumbers. Seems to have more than enough power.
I purchased this after reading several reviews from several different food processors. I was planning on buying a Cuisinart. I am okay with spending money on something that last a long time. The problem with Cuisinart is I read so many complaints about there warranty policy. After hours of time and thought I decided to get this one. It was a great buy! I have a garden and used this for shredding zucchini, making tomato sauce, and slicing veggies. It works great. I am giving it a 4 star because I don't feel I can give it a 5 until I see how long it last. I have only had it a couple months. I feel it is worth the savings of the expensives ones. For $4 I also purchased a extra 2 year warranty. So I have a total of 3 year replacement warranty and I only spent $42. It don't get better than that. It is a must for making cooking a little easier.
I have had no issues with this machine. It slices and and purees well. My only complaint is I can't seem to control the thickness of the slices as much as I'd like to. Overall I'm really happy with the machine though. It was a good deal for the money.
It works ok but the opening is rectangular so not that wide. You can't put a full cucumber or tomato or onion in it. You have to slice the cucumber in half and onion too to make it fit. Not a big deal for the discount price I guess but it would not cost them that much more to make a really big circular opening right?
I wanted to buy a food processor particulary for making almond meal/milk and making coconut butter. It. Makes the almond milk/meal with no problem, but the liquid fill max is 2 cups so I have to make it in many small batches. If you're looking for something that's got the power to make coconut butter you need to look elsewhere and spend wayyy more money. I made a batch that was semi decent but it took an hour and was still quite gritty but I didn't mind. In the directions it says that if you are using the blender continuously for 1 min then you must give it 1 full minute of rest. I did this to avoid burning out the motor, this is mostly why it took an hour for the coconut butter. I have made muffin and brownie batter in this and it works like a charm. I have yet to use any of the slicers though
I wasn't expecting much. I've had it for 3 weeks now; used it twice. Am not able to comment on durability so I marked it average. A few drawbacks: The pulse feature is not very responsive, although it does pulse quickly; once released, the reaction time to stop is slightly slower; so it remains spinning and because of it's power even just a second too long decimates contents. It is powerful. I'm disappointed there is not a blade that sits near the bottom that is for mixing only(not sharpened.) The space between the upper cutting blades and the feeding tube is too much; certain foods slip through and don't get processed and become not usable in the processor. I have noted these shortcomings because for the price I paid it's a good buy but, adjustments when processing need to take these in consideration; then many tasks can be completed sufficiently.
I bought this to replace my 10 year old 7 cup Cuisinart that still runs but the bowl and cover cost a fortune to replace. The Hamilton Beach is great for chopping and slicing but lacks enough power to knead dough and has no dough blade. Compared to the Cuisinart it's just not strong enough for heavy duty use. Can't run for longer than 1 minute continuously without risking overheating and burning up the motor. You can't beat the price and it is great for chopping and slicing. It is fast at processing. I just wish it had a little more power and a dough blade option. The plastic bowl does seam a little flimsy and the blade is a little lightweight. Overall it's still a good processor for the price. Time will tell if it will hold up.
The motor was strong, it would go fast enough to draw the food in, and it was easy to use. However I found after my purchase that I could not buy additional parts, and that the slicing disk made each slice so thin you could read through it. If you don't care about the slicing part, or don't want to add other slicing disks, then this would be good for you.
