Hamilton Beach Clothing Iron, Steam Iron for Clothes with Extra-Glide Nonstick Soleplate & Retractable Cord, Silver

I use my iron as I piece quilts and appreciate that it is fairly lightweight. The steam vents on the sole plate are sufficient even for relatively small fabric pieces. I like the see-through cover which allows me to monitor the water level. My only complaint is that even though I turn the iron on and off manually, between ironing sessions, it still powers itself down after a period of time and I must hit the reset button to turn it back on. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with this steam iron.

I finally found an iron that will hold water without it coming out all over my clothes every time I try to iron. I love the way it smooths out all the wrinkles and the retractable cord is nice added bonus. Although, I'm wondering if it will keep retracting properly over time. I seemed to try and stall one day but eventually went on in. Overall this is a great product. I've only had it a couple of weeks so I'm hoping it will continue to meet my needs.

I'm a single guy and do all my own ironing so a basic iron was all I was looking for. The eye catcher for me was the retractable cord which works great. It heats up quickly and seems to cool faster than my old one. I've only used it for a few weeks but so far I'm very pleased. It has a quick heat up and cool down, no water issues as far as the spray and steam (just don't overfill it), light weight, has the retractable cord and was a very good comparative price. I also found that when you stand the iron on end that it's almost impossible to tip over due to the retractable cord housing, a great safety feature.

This is a nice Iron, The retractable cord function is very useful to store the iron. As far as its functionality, It gets hot very fast, the thermostat works efficiently, steam is powerful and efficient. The only negative point is the indicator does not turn off when the thermostat switches off the iron, you need hear the click sound from the thermostat to understand that the iron has switched off.

My two kids and husband wear uniforms. An iron is an essential appliance in our house. This iron has exceeded our expectations. It is heavy duty and light weight all it one. We use it everyday and all day on Sunday. The retractable cord comes in handy.

It irons fine. My first complaint is that the dials for selecting temps is nearly impossible to see and turn. I had my husband try it to see if it was a matter of hand size. It isn't. I have to grasp the iron with both hands , prop it on the board and work the dial back and forth. It is very awkward. Also, the iron has no sound or warning that it will shut off when unattended. Also, and this is weird, you have to pull the plug in and out to start it up again, after it has turned itself off. Overall, a real pain. I think that Goodwill will get this and I'll retrieve my old iron from the Goodwill Donation bag in the garage.

I bought this iron earlier on in the year but only started using it a couple weeks ago, so I could not request a refund. The first thing I noticed was the weird smell (like coffee). The second thing was that the iron leaked. This really bummed me out as I had owned one of these previously that NEVER leaked and lasted for about 8 years. Imagine my surprise when the colour of the leaked water was a dirty brown and stained my clothes. (See attached photos).

Leaks and so completely unusable. It was fine the first time I used it but now it just leaks like crazy and it's just too risky to ever use again. Wish I saw this sooner when I still could have returned it.

Very poor quality. Returned after few days due to leaking. Still waiting for the return.

I bought this iron because of the positive reviews. However, I had to return it because it didn't work as expected. I tried to iron my work pants, moved it over and over, even tried to pressed down on the pants, and the wrinkles were still there! My old black & Decker removed the wrinkles with a single glide over. I ended up getting a another black & Decker iron instead.
