I love my Hamilton Beach hand mixer! I have a heavy KitchenAid mixer tucked into my pantry and it is difficult to move so I wanted soemthing convenient. This hand mixer works great and has a nice storage case to put it into along with the 3 beaters. The mixer rests against the side of a bowl too. I've started baking cakes again because I have this great little mixer! I love that they thought of so many ways to keep things clean! I think it is a great value for the money.
I've owned several hand mixers of the years, and a couple of pricey stand mixers. The stand mixers are fussy to use and hard to clean. I rarely use mixers at all these days, certainly not enough to justify either the price or the kitchen real estate for another stand mixer. (Plus I've found them more prone to failure than even the cheapest hand mixers.) This hand mixer sits on my countertop, with everything neatly folded together in the included stand/case. It's a good size without being too heavy to manage. While my first priority is function, I also like the mint green color of this one. It's got the right amount of power for home use, is easy to handle, and I absolutely love it.
I needed one here @ the house where I’m staying @. I tried creaming the sugar %26 butter together for banana bread w/a wooden spoon. Not an easy task, mind you. So I saw this model, %26 liked it right away. It was a name brand model by Hamilton Beach, that was relatively affordable, %26 it came w/a uniquely designed case to store all the different attachments together w/the whisk. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m sure it will be great!
It works well, even with thick brownie and cookie batters. Definitely recommended this for bakers. Great value. the only improvement I would make is the storage container size. It is too small the parts and cord must be packed to perfection in order to fit. I have been leaving the cord dangling and I prefer not to do that. A few more inches of space would be marvelous.
For a general use, everyday hand mixer, this one is perfect. I have a fancy stand mixer but sometimes just need something quick and easy to use for a little batch of something. I like that it has the storage compartment for the beaters and cord because cabinet space is tight. It's also easy to clean up. I've used Hamilton Beach for years and trust the brand too.
It's unpleasant to use because it's very heavy and awkward. I should have looked at the weight before I ordered this. The motor is powerful and no doubt adds to the weight. It certainly adds to the noise. I really only need something for whipping cream and light batters. On a positive note, The storage case is nice. I can't really recommend it. I wish my little old one hadn't broken.
My old three speed General Electric hand mixer that I bought at a yard sale 25 years ago finally bit the dust. It served me well those 25 years and it was at least twenty years old when I bought it. It wasn’t pretty but it did the job. They certainly do not make things that well anymore — at least that’s what this product says to me. It looks very nice, but that’s where the “pros” end. I chose this mixer because of the respectable stated power output, the 6 levels of speed, and the storage capability. The beaters do not lock in. The unit has a beater release button but you don’t even need to use it because you can easily just pull them out by hand. Additionally, the beaters wobble or oscillate a small amount during no-load operation and it becomes more pronounced at mid speeds. Imagine mixing cookie dough and having the beaters get mired in the dough and just popping out of the mixer. On top of all this, the beaters and whisk are not at all substantial. They are quite wimpy. Other than plugging it in and observing the rotors oscillating instead of spinning neatly, I did not even bother using this mixer. I am re-packaging and returning. It seems with hand mixers today that you truly do get what you pay for and $20 gets you low quality. The photos are taken using my literally size small hand for scale.
I bought this hand mixer in November. In August, during its 3rd or 4th use, something in the gear shaft broke while making buttercream icing with very soft soft butter. This is the 3rd Hamilton Beach mixer I have purchased. My first one lasted years 10 years. My next one lasted around 2 or 3. This one didn't last but 9 months with only occasional, light use. The boost function never worked great. Most things needed to be mixed with the highest speed, and I always wished it had a bit more boost. I will never buy another Hamilton Beach mixer again. Unfortunately, this brand has really declined in quality. I loved my other ones, but this one was a disappointment. Buyer BEWARE!
Have had few months now used about 3 times. thought the features having a built-in case having the whisk was such a great idea which it was if it would have worked. One of the beaters metal arms completely broke I've only used it on cake mix the other thing is I noticed is, it rusted just from washing it, now I have to buy a new one but I still have my original I kept it just in case and that one is at least 20 years old and that one still works and none of the beaters broke ever. I do not recommend this product
it worked fine for the price, but i haven't had for even a full year, used it twice and the stir things are already rusting and the whisk part is to weak to whisk properly
