[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Box was in perfect condition upon arrival. I chose to make the Old-Fashioned Vanilla Ice Cream for my first batch. I followed the instructions laid out in the booklet that came with the ice cream maker. The ice cream was perfect. Creamy and was great consistency. Even after 24 hours in the freezer the ice ream was firm enough to scoop but not hard. Such a great appliance! The motor wasn't too loud. I'm excited to try more recipes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am absolutely STUNNED at the quality, simplicity & effectiveness of this machine. It has exceeded my expectations. 6 recipes are included. The FREEZER BOWL requires 8-22 HOURS in the freezer BEFORE beginning ANY recipe. Some recipes require cooking/chilling the mixture; some do not. I have made Easy Vanilla (does NOT require cook/chill time) & Cappuccino Gelato (requires cook/chill time overnight). BOTH had excellent texture & taste. Both have survived freezing & storage over 5-7 days in the freezer. I would not recommend storing for longer than a week or two. It was starting to crystal, flavor was not as bright as fresh. Churn is a little loud but 20-40 minutes is the average time required (25 for me) so the noise wasn't significant. After churning the ice cream is a soft-serve texture but storing in the freezer (at least 2 hours) firms it to regular texture. I am in love with this machine. Easy to use, easy to clean and produces a beautiful ice cream HOMEMADE by YOU. A win-win-win in my book!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like that the ice cream maker is not big. We do not have a large kitchen area and this affords us space that we would not have with other brands that tout the same product. Also, the quality of ice cream made by this model is excellent and delicious. You can literally follow the easy, simple ingredients and instructions for homemade ice cream provided in the booklet or online and it comes out great.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hamilton Beach has done it again. The easy use of this product has my teenagers and my husband constantly making their favorite ice cream. Simple ingredients and so very easy to understand directions. The only complaint that they have is the waiting for the ice cream to be finished. I never thought they would be eating ice cream in the winter but here we are.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always wanted an ice cream maker, but they all looked so daunting... until I found the Hamilton Beach 1.5 Quart Ice Cream Maker!! This maker is so easy to use, but be sure to follow the instructions. For instance, you have to turn the machine on before adding your ice cream mixture. If you don't turn it on first, the mixture might freeze too quickly, not allowing it to turn. It's very easy to assemble and with only one switch, it's easy to control. The unit is also very well made. It includes an easy to read manual with recipes for different ice cream or sorbet, and you can also make your own. Be sure you don't add more than 4 cups of your mixture so you don't end up with a mess. Not a complaint, but it is a little noisy. Not as loud as I thought it would be though. And what's nice is that it's portable. You can put it anywhere there is a plug to plug it in. The power cord is a decent length as well. If you don't want muss or fuss, I definitely recommend this Hamilton Beach ice cream maker!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received my ice cream maker, and it is absolutely a game changer! We can make fresh, frozen ice cream in just 20 minutes. It's also lightweight with only a few pieces, making it easy to store. We especially love the bowl and how quickly it freezes. I keep it in my freezer just in case because, once again, it's so quick and easy to make ice cream with this machine!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am pleasantly surprised by this machine. It's not that I didn't think it wouldn't work. It's just it's way easier to use than I thought it would be. Plus it's super easy to clean. It gives you a recipe book as well so now you know exactly what is going into your ice cream. My kids and I have already made several different ice creams and it's the middle of winter.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used an ice cream maker before, so I wasn't sure what to expect with this one. It is so easy to use! Planning is the hardest part about this ice cream maker. The bowl needs to be in the freezer 24 hours before it is ready to use. Also, the recipes need to be chilled overnight. It is loud while churring, and it shakes a lot. It makes me nervous that it will shake off the counter, so I just keep it on the ground when I am using it. I wish it came with a lid. It comes with a recipe booklet that has several recipes. I made a couple of the recipes, and they turned out delicious. The machine is very easy to clean.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Setup was very easy since there are only 4 pieces. Operation was also easy to understand. It is important to follow the direction of freezer time as I tried to cut some time off and consistency wasn't right. I re-did it and the second try was a lot better. There are two things that I didn't like, It is very loud during mixing. The second is other than the easy vanilla ice cream thought it was a lot off prep work. All and all it was a fun activity with the family and a nice treat at the end.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used it at home when I had my grandson visit me. Planning is the biggest challenge for me as you need to prepare the mix ahead of time and chill overnight. Churning was easy ( I was expecting paddle to turn but it didn't so I guess that was fine). It was louder than I expected as well. My grandson thought it was real yummy so it all worked out. We added choc chips and crushed candy canes. I will need to experiment with other combos.
