Purchased for my daughter who makes coffee in her go cup before work. It replaced a Hamilton Beach FlexBrew that had both the single serve and the carafe. We had it for several years, but the single serve side of that stopped working, so I replaced it with this single serve only, as I have switched to an electric percolator and no longer needed a drip coffee maker with a carafe. We do love this brand!
After several disappointing Kuerig coffee makers over the years, I decided to try this. It makes the coffee piping hot in just a couple of minutes. It is quite noisy when brewing. Wish the pod lid would stay up when refilling the grounds. Overall I am really enjoying my morning coffee with this machine. It doesn't seem temperamental like previous machines I have used.
My 3rd Hamilton Beach coffee k-cup coffee maker. So worth it to save $$ and still make a good cup of coffee. Who can beat spending less than $50 for a k-cup coffee maker. Mine last about 2 years each. Kept both of the old ones. Gave one to my daughter and she uses it in her camper. I've kept the 2nd one, as a back up. It still works and after I cleaned it with vinegar, it works fine again (just a little noisy and slow).
I have an older version of this Flex Brew that I bought like six or eight years ago. I still have it and I use it for camping. I bought this newer Flex Brew to replace a Keurig that I wore out. And this one I really like the way it's set up and that it's thinner so it takes up a little less counter space. And I also like that the button on the side just takes a light tap. I have discovered, though that you have to be careful not to bump the button accidentally otherwise your coffee will stop perking, and you might get a tablespoon of coffee in the bottom of your cup if you're lucky. I did that.
Love this machine. Easily brews Keurig pods or self-filled pods with your own favorite coffee or other beverage, or just to heat water for tea or hot cocoa. Perfect for a cup or two of any size, 6-14 ounces.
i like that I can use my own ground, organic coffee, but hate that the coffee pods and grounds holder sit at an angle. it causes spill over of grounds or pods coffee sometimes. I do add a paper filter, which makes no spill over with my grounds but does with some pods, as they have some type of sludge that stops up the paper.
Have loved this coffee maker til now. It has began running when I am pouring my water in for coffee for the next morning. Too late to get anything done about it but I just wish it worked right because it makes really hot coffee and the taste is great also.
Ground coffee basket worked 1 time and hasn't closed since. I called Hamilton Beach product line and was told by the company that they would send me a replacement but I would have to pay shipping and handling. If the basket was used once, isn't that considered a defective basket.
Five year warranty didn't last four months. It exploded while brewing, coffee and grounds everywhere floor, counter, clean dishes, and kitchen window... One of two hook latches broke, throwing it open during brewing. Brewed weak coffee, I got used to but, only lasting four months is unexceptionable!
Cheap plastic, first thing I noticed is the top lid won't stay up. Then tried to use it and it won't turn on. Very cheaply made product typical of just about everything these days!!!!!!
